Sequencing your ideas and thoughts will help you understand and communicate ideas more effectively.

As a student, I should follow the rules, the pattern, and the structure when I write my reports. In school, depending on the teacher's instructions, our lesson plans must be completed using 4As or 5As. Following the guidelines and using a clear format will make your reports simple to comprehend, and readers and listeners will be interested in what you have to say since they are the right length—not too lengthy, not too short, and not boring to hear. It must be important if we consider our audiences, because they are the ones who will make judgments about it.

- Shaina Higuera

In crafting a report, a writer shall know the precise purpose of drafting the document. Similarly, as a student and future educator, I opt to craft lesson plans and make a full-blown research paper.

An excellent report's author is evident in the precise objective for drafting the document. The study, analysis, suggestions, and other activities are all guided by this primary goal. A report's clarity gives it cohesion and makes it a valuable document for optimal use. Facts must support a report's information. Decisions depend on input from reports. Therefore correct data or statistics will result in the right choice. It will make it more challenging to attain the organizational aim. A good report is free from errors. Any faulty sentence construction may change its meaning in the reader's mind and make it confusing or ambiguous. Excellent information needs to provide a summary that allows the reader to decide where they stand on a particular issue. A summary may provide the entire picture at a single glance. As a result, it has a significant effect. A good report is effective and beneficial if it has the elements or characteristics mentioned above. It also aids in achieving the report's objective.

Every report should be entrenched in the fundamental characteristics of technical writing which are accurate, brief, and clear. Accurate in the sense that the proper layout, sections, numbering, and tables are explicitly presented to the readers, giving them the direction of understanding they yearn to obtain. Along with the accuracy of general form is the rigorous production of information. Consequently, it is significant to write factual, detailed, and comprehensive text for the target audience. Moreover, academic writing aims to impart exhaustive interpretation, establishing the report as guidance of knowledge instead of a burden hence brevity plays a big role in the successful features of report structures. Together with the appropriate numbering and sections, the report must contain a brief glimpse of the entire introduction and overview of the report, allowing readers to digest the information quickly. Furthermore, a good report must adhere to a clear purpose, unambiguously stating the aim, relevant discussions, and context for the problem being addressed. When the purpose is vivid, other figures will follow coherently which signifies that the writer can easily pen the title, abstraction, and other elements of the structure.

In conclusion, I believe that when the ideal characteristics of a report structure are anchored to technical writing primary objectives, there is an efficient, productive, and successful outcome. It is both beneficial to writers and readers in a way that writers exhibit full knowledge to proffer comprehensible information while readers will be fulfilled by proficiency with satisfaction. Following the distinguishing structure will guide audiences to achieve their desired manifestation of knowledge, making no space for ambiguity and uncertainties. Hence, as a future educator, I strive to learn more about these aspects in order to facilitate my students an accurate, brief, and clear guidance on the exemplary attributes of a report structure, wishing that they too, can utilize these characteristics in their personal and professional endeavors.

A good report's structure, content, language, typing, and presentation style must all be appealing in order to leave a lasting impression on the reader. An excellent report displays pertinent data. The majority of this data is assessed on the basis of importance. A good report "tells a story" by answering the following questions: who, what, when, where, why, how, and how much. A good report should be clear, brief, accurate, and well-organized, with distinct division headers. The audience will find it simple to understand.

The importance of presentation in report writing cannot be overstated. Reports come in a wide variety of formats, but they are often organized similarly to make it easy for readers to locate information.

To abridge everything that I have learned from the discussion about the basic structures of a report, I think the characteristics of a good report structure must have the following:

Objectivity

A report is not an essay.

A report is a particular type of writing that is factual and structured succinctly in identifying and discussing problems, occurrences, and phenomenological findings within an organization or a conclusion from a research inquiry. It entails clear, objective, and unbiased information on any impertinent subjects being discussed (Massey University, 2019). A definition of good report structure embodies the characteristic of being accurate, brief, and concise. They may often appear in a different format but they have similar characteristics. Yet, what are the qualities of a good report? So here are the standards they should consider:

Factual. A report should be factual which involves thorough

investigation, simultaneous research, and hands-on gathering of data supported by facts, not on assumptions. This emphasizes that a good report should be objective, not subjective.

Deliberate and coherent. A report involves a process and each step of it is planned. Thus, a good report is not accomplishable in just a single day perhaps it would affect the quality. It is well-planned and should observe coherence of ideas within its objective leading to a conclusion.

Organized. A report is divided into sections that stand on different functions. Through the use of sectioning, it organizes the idea making it clear to its reader which avoids ambiguity. For an instance, if a report lacks organization, it would lead to ambiguity among its readers and it would be hard for readers to understand what the author is trying to convey.

Systematic or Logical. As a means of being coherent, a good report should be systematic and logical. Thus, each stage is a prerequisite to proceed. One can't proceed to the next level if she/he hasn't accomplished the first stage. Logical means all sections are relevant to their objective to conclusions, and this emphasizes the interconnectedness of each process.

Appropriateness. The use of words must be according to the intended field of discipline. Evidently, each discipline has its connotation that may differ from other disciplines. Furthermore, the proper selection of words should be observed in a way that won’t cause ambiguity to its readers.

In conclusion, those are the qualities of a good report structure. Writing a report is crucial for a piece of information would instill a thought that would influence the perception. Thus, a good report should be factual, deliberate, coherent, organized, systematic, or logical and must observe appropriate word selection.

The technical report, based on what I grasped from the previous discussion, must include the required info. There are also formatting guidelines to help writers in making their work understandable to the reader. When writing a report, the writer should avoid using technical terms to keep the information simple and easy to understand. Additionally, each section of the document must serve a purpose and emphasize a particular interpretation of data. To avoid confusion, the title must be suitable and in line with the objectives discussed in the report. A good report must include an accurate source or reference to ensure that the work is authentic and useful to the audience. Professionals and students must follow a basic structure in their write-ups to ensure that the necessary information is presented and that they are direct to what they want to give to their audiences. Because if we create our structure specifically for making a technical report, the information may be misinterpreted, lack needed details, and be rejected by the audience. Therefore, every writer in a technical report or any write-up must adhere to formality and guidelines in their work while also remembering to make it clear, accurate, simple, and objective and the conclusion must give the key issues and points of their report.
