            ex: color of nurse's  clothing
     Dependent Variable- what is effected during the experiment / the outcome of the independent variable 
             ex: whether the babies cry or not

             ex: babies that see colors
    control group- does not receive the variable that is being tested
             ex: babies that see white coats
