I was born and raised in Hialeah Florida, but my ethnic background is Cuban and Italian, I went to a High school by the name of iMater Academy where it's there that I fell in love with the idea of being a teacher and is my current pursuit when it comes to my studies however at some point after teaching I wish to go past my bachelor's degree and get a Masters in counseling in hopes of being a school psychologist. I am passionate about my many hobbies such as art, writing, gaming, design, etc. But I am also passionate about helping other people; since high school, I've come to the realization about myself that I am at my best when I'm helping others be the best versions of themselves which is where my love of teaching began as well as when I decided to pursue psychology as my path of study to continue figuring out ways to help others as best as possible. At some point in the future I hope that I can stay here in Hialeah as I view this area as my home, I enjoy my community and wish to continue living here for the rest of my life, however, if I'm given the choice to move I would love to live somewhere in Texas or move upstate Florida in areas such as Tallahassee and Jacksonville.]]> 2022-07-22 15:48:22 UTC https://padlet.com/jamesromagnolo001/yd259505qzzbawc9/wish/2248255001 Research Training jamesromagnolo001 https://padlet.com/jamesromagnolo001/yd259505qzzbawc9/wish/2248278391 The session with professor Duque was very informative, though I've used the database tool before for my previous classes to conduct research it had been a while since I've used the MDC database so the session was very refreshing being able to relearn the system as well as learn how to use the system in a more efficient way as she showed me ways to narrow down my searches to better suit the needs for my research. A research tool that was mentioned that was good to hear about that I did not know was available to me was the "talk to a librarian" feature, being able to ask questions to someone who has the ability to look for the exact type of article, documentary, book, etc. that would best fit my research would be extremely useful as well as ease the pain of having to look for it myself. 

As for the topic I've decided to use, I wanted to look into "is mental health an issue for adults in Miami", As someone who majors in psychology and wants to at some point become a mental health counselor I am very passionate about mental health as well as a major advocate for people being able to have access to resources that is meant to better their mental health as well as educate them on the possible signs that may lead them to want to seek that help in the first place.

What treatments can be suggested for these issues? What is the most common of these issues? Or is mental health even the issue when it comes to the residents of Miami? However that being said I found it very informative studying what are the mental health issues plaguing the community I currently live in, I lived in Miami/Hialeah my whole life and had an idea of some mental health issues people face but I did not however have the full picture, and honestly I probably still don't consider how vast the topic of mental health can be.
