I found this picture really hard to start to colour in, I did not know where to start. It was quite overwhelming at first. Trying to choose colours and what goes where was all a bit too much for me today.

Once I finally started colouring in I just naturally began moving on section by section without overthinking it. It became quite therapuetic and relaxing. I felt alot calmer once I had begun and begun to enjoy the process.

I never took a finished photo of my piece but I was happy with how it turned out. Again prior to starting I did not know where to begin. As a child we do not overthink when we pick up a paint brush we just dive right in, so why as an adult is it so hard?? I felt like I was going to mess it up even though there is no right or wrong way of doing it.

I decided to list out the pets we've had over the years and the dots around the boot are actually the countrys I have lived in each side represents the colours of their flag. I then decided to write out all the countries I have travelled to. As time passed I got more comfortable but starting off always proves difficult.
After
I felt good afterwards that I didn't let myself get in my own head too much. The butterfly represented my Mum who's 20th anniversary was last week. Drawing and painting that did bring up some emotions but it felt good to create something in her memory.

We were both sligtly sceptical about what this activity was about before participating in it.

I found it interesting how my lines were mostly squiggley or curved and my classmates were generally straight and blunt. I found this quite challenging as I did not like how the piece was coming together and it was out of my control how my classmate made her additions, this highlighted to me how I like to be in control and like things done a certain way.
After
This piece showed me how we all express ourselves differently even when participating in the same activity. Once we got into it and were sitting back relaxing and listening to the music it was really enjoyable and once I allowed the sounds guide my pen it really helped relax my mind. I felt very at ease and really ejoyed this activity. Different sounds/songs created differrent movements on the page.

This activity has changed my perspective on creative arts. It has proven to me that age is only a number and we are never to participate in artistic activities. This activity was really relaxing I was very proud of how my outlined turned out, although it does not  look like me it still looks like a person. I was not as nervous doing this as there was no-one watching me. I was carefree and really got pulled into this activity.

At first I was taking pictures of things like this flower but they all seemed too obvious and I didn't feel they were what my lecturer was looking for. I then began taking really upclose pictures and changing settings on my camera. This was actually teaching me alot about the different settings on my phone.
