Before starting my classes, I always take the time to share my planned actions with my students by writing it down on the left side of the board. This is a great strategy to get the students ready for their morning with me. I go back to this list at least once or twice during the lesson.

This is a very ancient expression for me in my teaching career, I heard it the first time during a Reflective Teaching workshop at Cultura Inglesa, maybe 20 years ago. It encompasses the idea of activating students' prior knowledge before starting a lesson. We sometimes tend to forget how important this step is in getting your students on board.
