However you do need a fishing license to  fish there. If you have a 4 wheeler and decide to bring  it you can ride it around just not in the grass. Also dogs are allowed, so don't worry about leaving your dog at home with a pet sitter. You can swim in the lake but do beware of alligators and snakes. Don't worry to much just be careful because there have been sightings. One great thing is that you do not have to pay to be there. The lake is also open 24-7 but the office does close at 7:00 pm. It has a surface elevation of 44, so not that high. If you plan on going in the summer Plan to bring water and hot clothes because it can get very hot and humid. However in the winter it normally is short and mild. The tempature rarely goes below freezing or above boiling point. The average annual rain fall is 46 inches. Some activities include camping and hiking. However if you do decide to camp there are a few rules you should know before going. First you should clean up your campsite before you head back home. Keep pets on leash and quiet because they just don't want disturbances to the other civilians. Shooting or fireworks are prohibited. Also the maximum length that you can stay is 14 days. You do not need a parking pass. There are also trail for riding and are passable for horses. The water is shallow and clam. Also the beach is not crowded, which is great. If you get hungry there are 76 restraunts around you within a 5 mile radius. The beach has a small playground for kids when they want to take a break. The ratings are also great. If you have kids I would suggest The Children's Museum.  You could also go to iFly. iFly is kind of like a skydiving place only you are lifted up into the air with air. You do not jump out of a plane. Houston is mostly known for its BBQ, museums, and pro sports. They have certain exhibits for kids. Such as the challenge course, everyday people. Some popular questions that people asked was can you drop off  your child, what age range is appropriate, can we bring food into the museum/ is there food available, where can I park, and what should we  wear. No you cannot just drop off your child and pick them up later. It is not a daycare. They also require all children under the age of 16 to be attended by an adult at all times. For the age range the museum serves children from birth to 12 and their families. There are some things that are for younger or older people. For the food, no you cannot bring food into the museum. You may choose form their varied and healthy section in their cafe. For the parking it is available across the street in the museums parking lot. Metered and free parking is also available around the neighboring streets. Please do not park in a no parking zone. Some frequently asked questions are what should I bring, How long does it usually take to go through the Color Factory, and where should I park. For what to bring, you should bring your ticket and something to take a picture with. For how long it will take, they have estimated around an hour to an hour and a half. For the parking they strongly recommend for you to use the paid public parking. If you have any other questions you can go to their website.
