         <description><![CDATA[<div>She suffered from depression because of her father's death. He died due to complications from a foot amputation procedure in 1940. The deep depression she felt from her father's passing was too much for her to bear. She went on to write "Daddy" it concerned her troubled relationship with her authoritarian father and her feelings of betrayal when he died.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The most bizarre description she gives of her father is that of a vampire. "The vampire who said he was you" (Plath 72). She says he sucks the blood out of her. This is a metaphor for him sucking the life out of her for years.</div>]]></description>
