As you have made the concept of your drawing about the world, and you have the references (from www.scholar.google.com and www.images.google.com or www.pinterest.com ), now you are needed to do this Blended Learning :

1. Upload your Title of drawing, Artist Statement text and most importantly your Sketches(jpg) at the website Padlet, which link is: https://padlet.com/divinekids/1810creativedrawing
Please make sure that sketches image can be seen clearly (brightness-contrast).

2. Give minimum 2 comments for your friends’ sketch.

From this blended learning, we will get suggestion and proof of having done progress in the artwork, so in the Assignment 2 submission later will be much better. This will be fun.

Title: The two sides
Statement: This art is supposed to show the 2 sides there are of the world and what people choose to go to, the top shows a Luxurious life with more than what you want to have, and when people become greedy enough, they will be open to step on others to reach there, now on the bottom is a life that everyone can enjoy and it's just enough to live, and easily accessible, but for some people that's just not enough.

The sketch is not very detailed since i want to spend a lot more time in the final digital version.

Title: Next chapter: Off the grid

Statement: The artwork illustrates how the human civilization is moving towards sustainable and renewable methods to produce electricity which we use to power our daily modern lives. We humans have been making and using electricity for a long time. But we make the electricity by using non-renewable natural resources like coal, gas, oil etc. And in doing so we have been polluting and destroying the natural environment around us. But now, more and more countries are being aware of this problem and are replacing old and polluting electricity generation systems with environmentally safe ones like solar power plant, wind farms etc. to reduce the harm caused to the environment.

Title: There is food for everyone ( BUT )

Statement: It is the most extreme form of people's actions in 21th-century ( hunger ). having no enough food damage children, women, and men health and eventually cause death. Hunger is a contributory factor in the death of 3.1 million people and children under five every year. Poor people eat food from garbage or sometimes don't have food for days or months. While rich people throw food carelessly without giving any thought that there are people who need it to escape from death and watch them die. including politicians who use their position to have absolute control of poor people for their goods in order to provide food for them

Title: Sincerity is Scary

statement:
it is a drawing on how even in the most exclusive moments in our life we choose to mask our true self rather than being sincere. we tend to mask everything in life that once you slip yourself for being human people start to run out of things they liked you for. which is why it is mostly to one of the reasons as people would rather not to fall for someone who they have been friends with nor friends with their lovers. with the simple answer "we it will end us hating each other at the end"
ironically it is okay, i suppose, culture is to blame.
as we try to make our pain in the most postmodern way and we lose substance of ourselves whenever we say something like "that's a shame" as as self-referential way from being human.
but then again, we become balloons once we start to remove from the society and start consuming like a human.

Put down your phones.

ARTIST STATEMENT :

In this artwork of mine, I would like to express an emotion of how human action can lead bad cause to a society.

Back in times, there are no such technologies like smartphones that can take our precious time. They have impaired our ability to remember. They make it more difficult to daydream and think creatively. They make us more vulnerable to anxiety that makes them being an antisocial person. They are so addictive that make them ignore they beloved ones or simply forgets their responsibility.

The girl shows the emotion of sad represents a human that has been affected by the situation. By just thinking about how they can just ignore the surrounding just because they are enjoying in their virtual world that makes them so careless to take an action to start an interaction with other people. However, even if they would like to avoid the current situation they preferred to socialize in phones since they are already drowned in the glory hole of antisocial.

Therefore, I would like to show how smartphones can make a person be an antisocial person which cause bad effects to our modern society.

Title : Ripping off an angel's wings

Artist statement :

In this assignment i'm trying to tell the viewers about Child Marriage. I compile my artwork to become some illustration that link each other.

Child marriage is a formal marriage by an individual before reaching a certain age, specified by several global organizations such as UNICEF as minors under the age of 18. Eventhough it's not allowed to marry minors, there are some special circumtances that allow minors to get marry.

It may sounds fine, as long both party agree with it, but the truth is bitter. Many childrens, mostly girls, got forced into a marriage with a partner that may 2 to 4 times older than her. In many cases, the causes of child marriages include poverty, bride price, dowry, cultural traditions, laws that allow child marriages, religion and social pressure, fear of remaining unmarried, illiteracy, and perceived inability of women to work for money.

I named my artwork with 'Ripping off an angel's wings' , because in my prespective, childrens usually have 'wings', they are still young in this world, they are free to go and seek a new things.
Ripping means tore off their 'wings' of freedom. By forcing children into a marriage, is almost same with turning a children become a 'slave' and force them to not behave like other childrens.

For this artwork i'm basically trying to talk about what is actually happened in our world nowadays. From my observation,people tend to neglecting their own happiness and freedom just for the sake of making some money and for me the terms of money can buy anything are so wrong because people tend to make money but to make money we need to wear the happiness mask on our face just to cover our sorrow that can be shown by our own real face. i do hope that one day they will be reborn and people will understand that we dont need just money to make us happy. And another one fine day i do hope we can cut loose from the string of money and free from becoming money puppet.

Title of Drawing : ACCEPTANCE

This drawing is about the beauty of loving ourselves. I want to point out that even though most of the time somehow we hate ourselves to the point that we wanted to kill ourselves, we just have to accept who we are because we are people, and people are not perfect. We are the only ones who can truly accept ourselves. Others will come and go. They will not provide the true confidence we need to be ourselves. When you believe in who you are, you will always be okay. When you always accept yourself, you will never feel less, unworthy, or without confidence. Acceptance plays the biggest role in our self-worth. By accepting yourself completely, you are letting go of the idea that you are not enough. All of this ties together and the easiest step to seeing who you really are is to believe that you are what you should be.

Title: law 353
Issues and sexism facing women are a former and current topic unfortunately, but I have decided to talk about one matter that repulsed me the most and I cannot fathom how women who went through it can get by, it is Law 353.. a law where the rapist gets a free ticket out of jail if he marries the victim, this law was put by the government in order to "protect" the family': honor and pride, article 353 may differ in numbers but it exists (used to exist) in many countries such as Bahrain, Philippines, Tunisia, Lebanon.. and many more. I have made two sketches to represent how the brides feel during that day, where they no longer can voice out their struggles and the person who traumatized them can do it all over again.
1- a girl in her wedding veil but the atmosphere is far from happy, her eyes are covered, her mouth is open in fear.
2- a girl in her wedding dress with an expressionless face, her tear drops from one eye but she knows her screams for help wont be answered, behind her is a demon like figure that represent the groom or should I say the monster who raped her. she is holding a dead flower in contrary to the beautiful wedding flowers normally held, as this to her is an end rather than a start

Title: Social Media Addiction

we are all surrounded now by a lot of social media fake people showing how happy and blessed they're but in real life they're just people filled with sadness and emptiness and it's now really hard to know who's saying the truth about themselves in social media. despite this issue it's showing in this art work that is hard to see the real details of the human face they're just switching masks of social media apps

Title: Faith in Humanity
Artist Statement:
I find this world is still surrounded by the beauty of human nature, although some people find that this world is corrupted. There are moments when we feel just like giving up on the world, on all the bad things that happen daily, but every once in a while we witness a random act of kindness that makes us believe that maybe there’s still a hope in this world, that there’s still people who really make a difference.

In my artwork, there is a girl that lends an umbrella to an abandoned cat. I draw the piano that symbolise as a harmony relation between human and other living things.

Title: plusminus
Artist statement (temporary):
‘Art is about expressing and interpreting our life experience.’

My original idea was to illustrate the good sides and bad sides of the ‘world’. For example, in terms of education, everyone is facing hardships worldwide but rarely do they ever escape the ‘depression’ stage during their studies or career. However if they succeed or optimize their experience, they get to reap better benefits than most who don’t. It is alarmingly common for students especially, to say the words “ I want to kill myself”, “darker than my future” or “I’m only passing to survive”. ‘plusminus’ highlights the problems and solutions in society, as well as portrays my personal opinions on each matter. Viewers can see my positive and negative outlook on the ‘world’ without feeling contradicted to familiar sensitive topics.
The following unfinished sketch is a depiction of how I see the world’s education. Too many students prefer passing to ‘survive’ so they can get a job and feel safe in any economy. Almost all motivation to study isn’t from passion to learn, but from fear of disappointing their parents, the sense of debt to parents, fear of financial disabilities to support a future family and etc. It is uncommon for students in the world to want to learn for the sake of learning. For some, it’s a do or die phase in life with minimal joy and a pressuring sense of achievement. In my sketch theres a lot of symbolism. The lightbulbs only light up when you get enough “A’s” and due to this amount of pressure and stress, you’re constantly reminded that if you fail, the worse happens. You live on a broke unhealthy lifestyle of emergency maggi and soft drinks. Sadly, we’ll all be stuck in the light bulb for a very long time.

Tittle: Mental Illness (Depression is It Harmful?)
By 2020, mental illness is expected to be the second biggest health problem affecting Malaysians after heart disease.

According to the latest National Health and Morbidity Survey, every three in 10 adults aged 16 years and above in Malaysia suffer from some form of mental health issues.

Unfortunately, there is still a lack of understanding on the disease especially in terms of common mental disorders, the causes and possible consequences as well as recognising the early signs of major mental problems.

There is also a strong social stigma associated with mental illness, from a cultural stand-point shaped by superstitious belief and misconception.

This negative perception often leads patients with mental illness to suffer in silence, often ostracised by society with little hope of acceptance let alone recovery.

Tittle: Lack of Patriotism
Just a few weeks ago we Malaysian celebrate our independence day and our Malaysia day. Recently teenagers and student mostly didn't know their history of his or her country. According to interview done by TV3 , the reporter ask local people Rukun Negara and The history many people didn't know and some people forget about the history. This is become a serious issue and people take it as a joke. Some people also didn't remember how to sing NEGARAKU our national anthem.

The topic I chose is racism, racism is a huge problem that we believed vanished away but unfortunately it did not, it’s rooted deep inside of us and we act upon subconsciously without realizing. People of color have gone and are going through major problems in just doing their normal daily routine, going to take the trash? A cop will stop you. Eating in a restaurant? People will call you and disturb your meal. Want a job? Congrats it’ll be ten times harder to get one because of your color. Even our little kids, they would rather have the white doll rather than the dark skinned one even if they themselves are dark skinned.
