Out of the two passages, the original one emphasizes the quote better. Even though the graphic novel has pictures to better understand the emotions, the text shows better significance and emphasis of his hero type.

Some strengths of the original text are how it goes very in-depth describing some of the characters emotions and feelings. This is something the graphic novel does not do because it uses pictures to show the emotions, but the text does a better job at describing them. The text can describe some of these instances like emotions or certain images that you don't need an image to look at because the words can help you visualise it enough. A piece of evidence that can show this is when Mary Shelley was describing Elizabeth's lifeless body, "She was there, lifeless and inanimate, thrown across the bed, her head hanging down and her pale and distorted features half covered by her hair. Everywhere I turn I see the same figure - her bloodless arms and relaxed form flung by the murderer on its bridal bier." with this quote it is easily pictured how Elizabeth's dead body was laying. Shelley has a very good way of describing things to create an image in the readers head.

Revolving back to the resolution of the story, the text can be very redundant and have a lot of repetition. The text says, "'Fear not that I shall be the instrument of future mischief. My work is nearly complete. Neither yours nor any man's death is needed to consummate the series of my being and accomplish that which must be done, but it requires my own. Do not think that I shall be slow to perform this sacrifice. I shall quit your vessel on the ice raft which brought me thither and shall seek the most northern extremity of the globe; I shall collect my funeral pile and consume to ashes this miserable frame, that its remains may afford no light to any curious and unhallowed wretch who would create such another as I have been. I shall die. I shall no longer feel the agonies which now consume me or be the prey of feelings unsatisfied, yet unquenched. He is dead who called me into being; and when I shall be no more, the very remembrance of us both will speedily vanish. I shall no longer see the sun or stars or feel the winds play on my cheeks. Light, feeling, and sense will pass away; and in this condition must I find my happiness. Some years ago, when the images which this world affords first opened upon me, when I felt the cheering warmth of summer and heard the rustling of the leaves and the warbling of the birds, and these were all to me, I should have wept to die; now it is my only consolation. Polluted by crimes and torn by the bitterest remorse, where can I find rest but in death.'" this quote goes back on itself a lot and can repeat a lot. Another weakness revolving this quote is you cannot necessarily tell who is talking unless if you use some context clues near the end of the paragraph. If you look at the paragraphs before and after this one in the text, it seems like they are both from Frankenstein's Monster, making it seem like this one should be being said by Victor to create a flowing conversation. In contradiction to that statement, you cannot really tell that it isn't Victor talking until the end of the paragraph.

While the graphic novel shows Elizabeth's dead body, giving the reader a better image of how she lay there lifelessly, the text shows a better representation because it lays out Victor's thoughts and inner monologue really well. It also shows the second thoughts he gets while saying it should be him who is dead instead of Elizabeth.

With the resolution of the story, the graphic novel has a better representation. In the text, the resolution is extremely redundant and goes back to the same sentence but rephrases it in a bunch of different ways, making it confusing to the reader. The graphic novel is far less redundant and shows Frankenstein's Monster's acceptance that he has to die. In the text it is phrased like he is being forced. In the evaluation, the graphic novel gives a clearer understanding.

One of the strengths of the graphic novel is you can see when a different person starts talking. The text bubbles flow directly to the person who is talking. Another thing that makes the graphic novel good are the text bubbles of Frankenstein's monster are a different color from when the people are talking. It also has a guide at the beginning of the novel with a picture of all of the characters and a guide of what their names are and who they are in relation to the main character Victor Frankenstein.

Some weaknesses of the graphic novel is it is confusing with the time layout. It seems like it jumps around a lot. In the text evidence from the graphic novel, you can see Victor before the flashback. This part is confusing because it starts before the flashback but then never comes back to Victor in the present time, leaving the story seem sort of unfinished. This makes the reader think that something else should happen to Victor, or that he may need to realize or learn something.
