Should problem solving be taught as a separate topic in the mathematics curriculum or should it be integrated throughout the curriculum?

We discussed that problem solving and mathematics should not be taught as a separate topic. We believe it should be taught meaningfully. Students should be able to relate mathematics to the real world. Teachers should teach students that mathematics is applied every day and throughout life. That way students understand that what they learn is meaningful. When they know it's meaningful, they will want to learn.
