I know that this book takes place in the 1940's during the Holocaust and World War 2. The Nazis killed a lot of people all across Europe and this book takes place in the Netherlands and is the diary of a Jewish girl who is in hiding.

She was very anxious all the time because her family members far away had to deal with Hitlers laws until they move d to the US

Jewish people were not allowed to be around Christians

She lived a normal young girls life but then it was corrupted from anti-Semitic's

For a little while they stayed in the attic without even moving because mr and mrs vaan dan were on vacation. Anne was terrified the whole time.

They invite a new person to go into hiding. He is a dentist. They start talking about the horrible things that happened in the Holocaust and how so many innocent people are being killed. I hope that they make it through alive. They have to be really quiet when people come in.

Anne was really happy just to get an extra quarter pound of butter. She doesn't like it when people talk about her in a bad way.

A thief came in the house.

There are battles bombs and gunfire right outside their hiding place.

She had an argument with Dussel because she wanted to work at the table sometimes.

Anne recently has had her suitcase filled 24/7 because of all of the "banging" (guns?). Her mom asked her why and she said just in case she needs to escape. But now that i think about it, where would she go? Basically she is indeterminably stuck in there until the war ends or she dies.

Anne and everyone living with her didn't have much to amuse them so books were a huge deal to them

Burglars broke into the house and they stole 2 cash boxes upstairs but not in the annex so Anne's family was safe

Anne talks about food cycles. Anne talks about all her hobbies and tells us her favorite school subject is History. There was a big burglary. Peter forgot to unbolt the front door and everyone is mad at him.

I learned the struggles of a young Jewish girl going through growing up bunched up in a little annex with her, her family, and other family's. She was in constant fear of being attacked or killed. She was also dealing with depression and anxiety while everything else was going on.
