Intersectional Feminism by

"Intersectionality is imperative for inclusive feminism". In an effort to avoid overshadowing Feminist Literature with a single voice, i.e. hegemonic white voices, we are asking people to recommend texts/blogs/podcasts etc which embrace and empower minority voices and experiences.
Please submit your recommendations here! If you feel any of the resources shared may be inappropriate, please contact a.afzal@bham.ac.uk for review.

The self-described 'black, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet' Audre Lorde, for me, represents intersectionality, inclusivity and the need to champion our differences as beautiful and valuable. Her text Sister Outsider which is a collection of essays and speeches is an intimate, passionate insight into her multi-faceted identity and the responsibility we all have as women

I love reading the opinions, and viewpoints of women across the UK. If you've not read a book like this before, it may be a good beginning for the understanding of Intersectionality.

I benefit from the feminist culture in many countries and regions. In order to avoid a situation of anti-intersection similar to "whites for blacks", I sincerely recommend everyone to understand the current situation of East feminism even if it may be difficult because of the language barrier.
I really recommend a Japanese scholar called Ueno Chizuko. She gave a speech at the 2019 University of Tokyo Commencement Ceremony student faced. which generally introduces the situation of EVERY east Asia female (youtube has the video). And lots of her papers and books are famous in all of east Asia like misogyny, Patriarchy System and Capitalism, Nationalism and Gender, etc.
