She left her mother hidden and decided to become a resistance fighter called an andarte. She then grouped a band of female partisans, and they even got to fight by the male partisans. When Sara turned 18, she became known as 
Kapetenissa [Captain] Sarika, and was a very respected figure in the andartes movement.
