Motivations are varied through personal or simply, reasons why we do something and can benefit ourselves whether it be physically, emotionally, mentally, socially or spiritually. Motivations are generally separated/categorized through Intrinsic Motivations [Motivations we get from ourselves] and Extrinsic Motivations [Motivations we get from outside ourselves, which are external to us], this can be thought of by why you're doing something.

Personal motivations within myself was considered much of being able to experience a natural environment so close and viewing breathtaking sights such as crystal blue waters, white soft sand, ancient grown trees, vivid green plants and paths that felt significantly untouched [ that hadn't been purposely built in by humans] and it totaled the meaning as to why it felt so special to be there in the moment, to be granted the opportunity to see what had been given to us to discover. I had explored both Intrinsic and Extrinsic motivational experiences within the time-period hiking at Wilsons Prom, for example, I felt that after we stopped to admire the views/hills at WPNP, I took a mental picture along with a good feeling - telling myself that I've just walked all along a certain way around [the mountains, long paths and such] like I couldn't stop saying to myself "Wow, I can't believe that I was capable enough to overcome that" or "I really did that?". It's funny to reflect back on what I did, only to have myself feel so appreciative, lucky and honored afterwards but whereas at the time, I'd be too hungry and tired to care.

Throughout the experience, my mindset changed greatly as each day went by during the camp. How I knew this was through the almost constant feeling of either, "Are we nearly there yet?", "How long do we have to go?" I'd annoyingly ask and "This hike is absolutely beautiful." I'd admire 10 minutes after. Quite hard to stay in between, especially with a 20kg pack on your back and sweat drawing everywhere on your body - mentally and physically mainly, my motivation grew stronger as much as I tried denying it at the time, it made me learn so much more about myself and what I am now capable of even if I didn't believe it myself.

Looking back at the experience, it's made me consider that I should keep pushing towards things I believe in to achieve it and feel proud of myself no matter how small or big - if it feels significant than it's important either way.

As stating the obvious, my biggest lowlight was having to carry my fat overpacked hiking bag - it was almost I had purposely put 100 bricks inside just wanting to break my back however, I managed to walk through with it entirely [with a lot of sooks and cries of course] and among the sulks I reminded myself that "It'll be okay, walk at your own pace." and for 'next-time' that I should be careful and consider what I needed to really pack and what I actually needed to keep at home. Another lowlight was my ankles, it became really difficult to walk and move my feet as my ankles were super swollen and stiff by the end of the day - this could've been the condition of my runners I stupidly chose to wear. Apart from those minor issues, much of the camp tested my mental and physical health and wellbeing greatly and I pushed myself to overcome it.

Wilsons Prom is considered to be a 'natural' environment as it's harder to get to unless you hike through it [40km if taking the suggested/most used paths] or somehow be airlifted in, less signs of human interaction [besides the overnight camping spots] and are more likely to have mostly native plant and animal species living in there. Although there have been minor adjusted facilities built inside [such as toilets, flattened ground for camping etc.], it's made up of mainly a natural environment not relatively touched or changed by human interaction/s.
