He strives to portray himself as a non-judgemental character when in reality, he is green with envy towards Mr. Gatsby. With that being said, Nick portrays a bias opinion at the onset of the story, hindering the way he depicts and introduces other characters. Nick does not seem like a reliable narrator hence the fact that he portrays himself early on into the story.
