He judges them for not wanting more and life and being content about where they are financially speaking. This is completely the opposite of how he lives his own life, he could just sit back and life his life the same way they do, but he has the motivation needed to become a stock broker and make more money for himself.

Fitzgerald using Nick's point of view to narrate the story, which is using the first person narrative. This method is able to helps readers to participate into the story, and more clearly to know what happened. Also, Nick's point of view maybe involved some of Fitzgerald's thought about that lost generation. The difference between Nick's role and other characters'role is Nick is the god view that he knews everthing and he knows what is going on Nick is a realiable character because he is telling people he lives in west egg,a not fashionble villege and his other friends are live in the east which is the wealth people's living area.

Fitzgerald utilizes Nick to narrate in order to aid the readers perception of the story and Gatsby's life. Nick is one who lives in the less posh West Egg of the outskirts of New York. He is a character who likes to work for his money and all the assets he owns. He strives to portray himself as a non-judgemental character when in reality, he is green with envy towards Mr. Gatsby. With that being said, Nick portrays a bias opinion at the onset of the story, hindering the way he depicts and introduces other characters. Nick does not seem like a reliable narrator hence the fact that he portrays himself early on into the story. Would be in the best interest to keep a close eye out to what Nick has to say and how he says these things.
