Located Southwest Russia the Germans fought the Society Union to get to the city of Stalingrad after conquering major countries east of Germany. Previously, Hitler had made an agreement Stalin (A dictator of the Soviet Union) that he would not attack the Soviet Union once the Germans got there but he did it anyway. While the Germans were in Russia they did not expect the cold conditions and were not prepared for them. Soviet Unions used the snow to their advantage and had their own "Soviet Snipers" that were dressed in white to camouflaged with the snow. It was noted that they ran out of food so they had to resort to eating their own horses.
