Afros was a style from  the 60s because people wanted to become themselves and be their self. The people who had Afros enjoyed having this style. People didn't worry about what other people thought. Martin Luther king disagreed with whites treating black people poorly. back in this time to black people it felt like it was slavery again from the 1800s.
