I don't understand how emotional intelligence influences trust with others since emotional intelligence is controlling and understanding your emotions. I do understand however, how your E.Q. can affect relationships with others because if you are able to see another persons perspective then they can relate with you and understand what you are saying. Another thing I don't understand is how understanding your emotions can help you maintain good health since if you don't know your emotions then you will be stressed, but that is really all.

The concept of such a thing of a EQ and how this is tested, still confuses me, because finding the IQ of somebody seems relatively simple. As in you take a test and eventually get a score; but testing someone's EQ seems far more subjective. I understand that EQ can definitely make you more happy and motivate you using emotions, but I don't understand how that's more important than IQ. It says that EQ is important because if you master EQ than you have fully control over your emotions which means that you can achieve many things because as the article says, "It plays a critical role in every aspect of the quality of our proffesional and personal existence." I understand really well that mastering EQ can lead to having a happier life and you can have control over you emotions, but I don't understand why EQ is more important than IQ because you can be "emotionless" and still have a fair life. Not only that, IQ is intelligence and without intelligence how would you have control over your emotions?

Paragraph 5 stood out to me because I found it kind of relatable in a way. The text says "Many of today's young people deal with stress and pressure each day. Those who lack the skills to deal with these stresses have a higher chance of acting out due to a lack of mental well-being." I related to this part of the paragraph because I feel stressed out often, so this part of the paragraph really stood out to me.

Paragraph 8 stood out to me because it starts to explain conflict resolution. The first sentence gets me hooked because it says that it is a skill many wished they had meaning that it isn't something you train yourself to do. Then it goes into detail how seeing something from another persons perspective about a situation is a good way to get along with people. This is because if you know what the other person feels about a conflict then you can give them a solution that they would like, making the person like you and build trust in knowing that you think about their feelings and not just yours.

Paragraph seven stood out to me because it is talking about how it is important to have relationships. For example in the text it states," This will help you to build stronger bonds and have more fulling relationships." This is something that I think is very important in life. It is good for you to be able to have many good relationships with your friends and family. It is also talking about how if you can take control of your emotions then this will help you build stronger relatioships. This is also very important because many people can sometimes over look the fact that your emotions play a big role in relationships.

In paragraph 7 it states that "This will help you to build stronger bonds and have more fulfilling relationships.", which helps the understanding of the impact that emotions can have and that controlling and managing them will help your relationship with those around you. Overall in paragraph 7 it will describe and explain the importance that being aware of and managing your emotions can have in your life and others. Which is a very important thing to learn in life, better soon rather than later.

What still confuses me is the slight mention of how the EQ is more important than your IQ. Yes, emotional health is very important but why bring mention to the IQ, since yes it's what job status is more based around but I don't really get the correlation. Is it trying to bring more attention to EQ in jobs? What I really understood was the basis of the whole text like the point. But the main one is conflict resolution, this is very important, and being able to seek out two sides of a conflict is essential to helping a situation.

This means that once my generation reaches the workforce the things that can impact us daily are able to impact those around us.

One idea that the author gives in the text that I really like is in paragraph seven, that by understanding your emotions, you can better manage yourself and communicate effectively. That you will be able to better relate to those around you by understanding the needs and feeling of the people around you. I like this idea because you have to understand your emotions as best as you can to be a better version of yourself. When you focus on yourself and your emotions you will probably relate to others.

The author had separated his article into multiple parts to help tell and write about the important information. With him separating it all it would help the reader differentiate the ideas the author was writing about. Without the amount of information and the separation the author had put into the article that he has written, it would have been worth written.
