The piglets needed to build a dwelling for its protection. The first piglet decided to build a house out of straw. The second piglet, whose name was Porky, built a house out of sticks. In contradistinction to his fellow tribesmen, the third piglet decided to spend more time building his home, choosing bricks for this, although they are more expensive. Soon, a hungry wolf approached the piglets with the intention of eating them. Therefore the piglets took refuge in their homes. The wolf easily destroyed the first house built of straw. The destruction of the second house took longer, nonetheless the wolf still coped with this task. Whereas for the third house, which was made of bricks, it remained unshakable and proved impossible to destroy.</p>]]></description>

Under conditions of a high probability of wolf presence nearby, they have decided to build shelters. We observe that each one has chosen its own material for the house: the first – straw; the second, which name is Porky, – sticks; and the third – the most expensive material – bricks. After a while, driven by biological instinct, the wolf approached the piglets. When the wolf came close to the piglet houses, they were inside. In a relatively short time, the wolf destroyed the first two houses. However, it did not destroy the third brick house.</p>]]></description>

Since the piglets and the wolf make up the food chain, the piglets were forced to build a shelter.  The first piglet used straw as a material to build his house, the second used twigs, and the third used bricks. The last house was built longer than the others due to the fact that brick is an expensive material. When the wolf felt hungry, he decided to go to the piglets. In response, they began to hide in their shelters. Only the third house remained intact, because it was built of good material, which cannot be said about the others. To sum up, the rate of destruction of houses depends on the quality of building materials.</p>]]></description>

The second pig, named Porky, chose sticks to build its house, which took a little more time. The third pig, however, spent the most time building. It used bricks, which are stronger but also more expensive.</p><p>Later, a hungry wolf arrived. The pigs hid inside their homes. The wolf tried to blow the houses down. The first house, made of straw, fell down easily. The second house, made of sticks, lasted longer but also collapsed. However, the third house, built from bricks, was too strong. The wolf could not blow it down.</p><p>This shows that stronger materials, like bricks, make safer houses. Even though building with straw and sticks is faster and cheaper, these materials do not provide much protection. The brick house, while more expensive and slower to build, kept the pigs safe.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The experiment was as follows: three pigs of different age (referred to as test subjects in further mentions) had a task of building a house, each one of them had to be constructed from different materials. </p><p><br/></p><p>The first test subject used straw as a building material for their shelter. The second test subject (labeled Porky) used sticks as their material of choice. The third test subject came up with the idea of building a house of an expensive and durable material -- the bricks. </p><p><br/></p><p>The test for their newly built houses was as follows: a hungry wolf was used to test their building and decision making (materials-wise) skills . </p><p><br/></p><p>The test results are as follows: the wolf was able to eliminate 2 test subjects (which had the houses built of straw and sticks) in a short and moderate time respectively. The third test subject has passed the test as it was unfeasibgle for the wolf to eliminate them due to their wise choice of materials. </p><p><br/></p><p>Bricks proved to be the safest option in terms of resisting predator's assault. Other options turned out to be inpractical in resisting a hungry predator.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>In this study three cases of dwellings constructed individualy by juvenile domestic pigs of varying ages to defend from Canis lupus predator were investigated. Pig 1 utilized straw, Pig 2 (Porky) employed sticks, while Pig 3 constructed a dwelling from bricks, a comparatively more costly material requiring a greater construction time. Upon the arrival of a C. lupus, each pig shelter to its respective dwelling. The wolf readily demolished Pig 1's straw structure. Pig 2's stick dwelling offered increased resistance, however was destroyed from the wolf's efforts. On the other hand, Pig 3's brick dwelling proved invulnerable to the predator’s attempts at demolition.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Draganov Ivan</strong></p><p>For a long time, the scientific community has been faced with the question of choosing a material for building a house, implying its resistance to destructive factors. The purpose of this work is to study the stability of a house depending on the material of construction. The following materials were used: straw, wood, brick. The authors of the work alternately exposed the houses to a strong wind flow. Under such an impact, the house made of straw was destroyed the fastest, then the house made of wood. The authors found that, despite the strong wind flow, the brick house did not collapse. Based on the above, it is safest to build a house from brick. In the future, the authors plan to increase the list of initial building materials.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Three pigs of different age decided to conduct an experiment on whether it is possible to live nearby a wolf. They chose a set of different materials to build their houses with varying cost and time needed to build. Specifically, the first house was built from straw, the second, constructed by Porky – from sticks, and the last, the most expensive one – from bricks. Eventually, the wolf came, starting the final phase of experiment. Houses were tested by blowing air out of the wolf’s mouth with pigs hiding inside. As a metric they chose the time houses stood against the wind. Obtained results were as follows: lowest rating for the straw house, then sticks, and finally, bricks, with an infinite value of chosen metric meaning that this house could not be blown down at all.          <description><![CDATA[<p>In their article entitled "A TEST SYSTEM BASED ON COMPETITIVE ENZYME IMMUNOASSAY FOR THE DETECTION OF ANTIBODIES TO THE ANIMAL RABIES VIRUS (RHABDOVIRDAE: LYSSAVIRUS TYPE WOLF)," the authors examine the interaction of antibodies in three types of pigs. In the context of this study, three active drugs, namely "Straw," "Sticks," and "Bricks," were identified and subsequently administered to three experimental pigs. It is important to note that each of the three subjects had been artificially injected with Rabies lyssavirus.</p><p>According to the research results, the first vaccine, Straw, unfortunately did not provide the expected outcome, resulting in the subject's death. Proceeding to the second type of vaccine, "Sticks," an allergic reaction was detected specifically in the species Sus scrofa domestica. Despite several attempts to save the individual, ultimately, the subject died. In contrast, the third type of vaccine, Bricks, elicited a positive response to the resistance of viral cells, allowing the individual to pass the critical period of the virus passage.</p><p>Consequently, the test for the defeat of viral cells yielded results in the form of a capable vaccine designated under the working name "Bricks." Therefore, the study demonstrated the potential of the Bricks vaccine as a viable candidate for further development.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>In the course of our study, we analyzed the behavior of three pigs of different ages. The pigs had to build a house one by one to avoid a wolf. We have identified three types of materials that were chosen by the piglets for the construction of the house: straw, sticks and bricks. The construction time of a house made of these materials and its destruction increased significantly, respectively. Our experiment did not have enough time to destroy a brick house. </p><p>Nevertheless, combining the efforts of pigs to build a brick house leads to an increase in survival.</p>]]></description>

In the framework of the present work they had to build a house under a circumstance of a wolf situated close to them.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>2. Materials and methods</p><p>The first pig came to a decision to use straw as a building material, the second one have chosen sticks for the same purpose, while the last one preferred bricks, though this is a more expensive material.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>A crucial note, inevitable for the following discussion should be done: the name of the second pig was Porky.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>After building of all the houses were finished, the wolf approached them with an intention to eat the pigs. To avoid this process, every pig hid inside its own house.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>3. Results</p><p>First, the wolf immediately blew down the house of the first pig. After that, it started to blow down the Porky's house, which proved to be more robust, but also was blown down after some period of time. Finally, the wolf tried to blow down the last house, and this action had no any detectable effect.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>4. Conclusion</p><p>The houses made of bricks are impossible to blow down, unlikely the houses made of cheaper materials.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Investigation of the strength properties of buildings depending on the building material</p><p><br/></p><p>Moroshkina A.D.</p><p><br/></p><p>It is known that three different ages little pigs lived nearby a wolf, thus they had to build a house to hide in it. In this work we study the dependency of the strength properties of buildings on the building material using the wolf-blowing method. Also every little pig was allowed to choose the building material for his/her house, thus the level of the cognitive skills of different ages little pigs can be estimated according to their ability to predict the result of made choice. Three buildings made from straw, sticks and bricks were blown by wolf, the time required for complete destruction was measured. The results shows that the first house was destroyed almost immediately, the second one required some time but also was destroyed. The third house made from more expensive material – bricks – showed the greatest strength properties: it was impossible to blow down the building. Despite the fact that this choice was made by third little pig who seems to be the eldest, there is correlation but not causation between the age of the pigs and their ability to predict strength properties of house.</p>]]></description>

Although the third pig took longer to build his house, his house was made of bricks, despite the fact that bricks are a more expensive material. Eventually, a hungry wolf came to eat the pigs. As a result, the pigs hid inside their homes. Initially, the wolf easily blew down the first house. It took longer to blow down the second house, but the wolf did it.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Here we report three minor individuals of <em>sp.</em> <em>Sus domesticus</em> of various ages in close proximity to member of <em>sp.</em> <em>Canis lupus </em>species<em>.</em> Experiment participants were given a task to build a house without materials specification. As a result, the first subject has constructed a straw building, and the second* has chosen sticks. Finally, the third, in the case of which the construction took the longest time, built a house of bricks. It should be noted that such a house is also more expensive due to the increased cost of materials. After the completion of the preparatory phase with the construction of houses the unfed for 7 days <em>sp.</em> <em>Canis lupus </em>was set free near individuals of <em>sp.</em> <em>Sus domesticus</em>. Despite the fact that all the test subjects had hidden in their buildings, the wolf attempted to destroy their buildings by means of a strong stream of air from his mouth. In the first case <em>sp.</em> <em>Canis lupus</em> successfully blew down the first building within seconds, in the second case the range of time was minutes. By contrast, the third house is reported to be blownsafe due to use of durable and heavy materials. Thus to summarize the impact of <em>sp.Canis lupus </em>nearby the minor <em>sp.</em> <em>Sus domesticus</em>, we present differences in the approach to predator shelter construction within the same species.</p><p>________________</p><p>*the participant specifically asked to note his name, which is Porky.</p>]]></description>

Three objects (pigs) were used, each constructing a shelter from a different material.</p><p>The first object (pig) built a house from straw, which was quickly assembled but lacked strength. The second object (pig, named Porky) used sticks, a more durable material but still insufficient for withstanding external forces. The third object (pig) used bricks, a material with high strength and resistance, requiring more time and resources to build.</p><p>After construction, a series of tests were conducted using a model of external force (wolf), simulating high atmospheric pressure (strong wind). Results showed that the straw house was easily destroyed, the stick house took more effort to destroy but was ultimately collapsed, while the brick house remained intact, unaffected by the external force.          <description><![CDATA[<p>     The study focuses on investigating the effectiveness of houses constructed from various materials in protecting piglets from a hungry wolf. For the experiment, three piglets of different ages were selected and placed near a wolf. Naturally, the effective shelter construction was necessary to protect the piglets from the nearby wolf. However, rather than collaborating to identify the most suitable solution, they chose to act independently. Consequently, they built three different houses utilizing various materials.</p><p>     The first piglet decided to build a house of straw because it was the most available and easy-to-use material. Meanwhile, the second piglet, named Porky, chose sticks as the building material for his house. The third piglet, prioritizing durability over time efficiency, constructed a house from bricks. Although this material is more expensive, it offers significantly greater resilience.</p><p>     When the hungry wolf arrived to eat the piglets, they hid inside their respective shelters. Obviously, the wolf quickly and easily destroyed the straw house. While it took more effort, the wolf ultimately blew down the stick house as well. However, despite numerous attempts, the wolf was unable to destroy the third house, which was constructed from bricks.</p><p>     Thus, it was concluded that the probability of piglet survival is directly proportional to the quality of the material used to construct the shelter as well as the time invested in its construction.</p>]]></description>

This study examines the divergent methodologies employed by each subject and their subsequent efficacy in withstanding external threats.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The initial subject, demonstrating a proclivity for expeditious construction, opted for a domicile composed primarily of gramineae stalks. Concurrently, the second subject, henceforth referred to as "Porky," selected lignocellulosic materials as the predominant building component. In contrast, the third and final subject exhibited a more protracted and deliberate approach to construction, ultimately choosing fired clay blocks as the primary structural element. It is noteworthy that this latter material is associated with significantly higher procurement costs.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Upon the arrival of a carnivorous canine, ostensibly motivated by nutritional deficiencies, the porcine subjects sought refuge within their respective dwellings. The subsequent events unfolded as follows:</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>1. The gramineae-based structure succumbed rapidly to the lupine's respiratory assault.</p><p>2. The lignocellulosic domicile demonstrated marginally superior resilience, yet ultimately yielded to sustained exhalatory force.</p><p>3. The fired clay construction, however, proved impervious to the predator's efforts, effectively nullifying the threat.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In conclusion, this case study illustrates the correlation between material selection, construction methodology, and structural integrity in the face of external pressures. Further research is warranted to explore the cost-benefit analysis of various building materials in similar scenarios.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>In this paper we investigate the feasibility of three different shelter design structures for miniature pig cubs. To answer the question about the most stable structure, the three major experiments were conducted by the expert in household buildings for extreme environments, Mr. Wolf. For the first shelter construction only dry stalks of cereal plants were used, whereas only minor wood limbs were utilized in the second experiment. The third technology required utilization of rectangular building units composed of clay or concrete and turned out to be the most sustainable approach compared to the previous two, despite the drawbacks of the costliness and longer constructing time. To range the sustainability of the shelter constructions the modified stability test was run which consisted of a few steps, including exposure to a directed flow of air with predetermined force, controlled specifically by Mr. Wolf. The second technology proved to be more durable in terms of wind resistance than the first, however it could only be used for a temporal shelter, whereas the third technology was able to tolerate the whole spectrum of wind simulations.</p>]]></description>

The first pig, perhaps influenced by the "cost-benefit" principle, chose to build his house from straw—a material easily obtained but one that, much like the fragile exoskeletons of certain insects, offers little protection against external threats.</p><p>The second pig, perhaps with a slightly more developed understanding of defensive mechanisms, opted for sticks as a building material. While this choice provided marginally more structural integrity than straw, it remained comparable to the weak, temporary shelters built by certain organisms that rely on speed rather than durability to avoid predation.</p><p>The third pig, exhibiting what might be considered an advanced level of foresight and resource management, decided to construct his house from bricks—a significantly more durable and resource-intensive material. This decision, while requiring more time and energy—much like the slow metabolism of certain long-lived species—proved to be an evolutionary advantage in the face of external pressures.</p><p>When the wolf, motivated by hunger, arrived to challenge the pigs, each took refuge in their respective homes. The wolf, demonstrating a highly effective (if somewhat simplistic) predatory strategy, easily blew down the straw house. The fragility of straw, akin to the thin protective barriers of certain vulnerable species, was no match for the wolf's formidable force. The stick house, though slightly more resistant, was similarly dismantled after several attempts, demonstrating the limited efficacy of weak, temporary structures in the face of persistent environmental pressures.</p><p>However, when the wolf reached the brick house, he encountered a material whose structural integrity was on par with the hardened exoskeletons of certain armored species. Despite his repeated efforts, the wolf's huffing and puffing proved futile—much like a predator attempting to breach the defense of a well-armored prey.</p><p>Thus, the third pig's choice of bricks can be seen as a masterclass in evolutionary strategy, illustrating the long-term benefits of investing in durability and resilience rather than relying on quick, short-term solutions that are easily overcome by natural forces.</p>]]></description>

Consider the option of building a shelter, called a house. Let there be three materials for building a shelter: straw, sticks and bricks. A shelter made of sticks takes k times longer to build than a shelter made of straw. And a shelter made of bricks takes n times longer to build than a shelter made of sticks.&nbsp;The time it takes for a pig to build a shelter from straw is tau. This research explores the efficacy of straw, sticks, and bricks as construction materials under the specific scenario of an external force applied by a predator, represented here by a wolf. The objective is to determine which material provides the greatest resilience.</p><p>Methods and Materials  </p><p>Three housing structures were constructed by three subjects of varying ages. The first subject built a house using straw, a lightweight and low-cost material. The second subject, named Porky, utilized sticks, a material slightly more robust than straw. The third subject opted for bricks, which are durable but more time- and resource-intensive to acquire and use.  </p><p>To test the structural integrity, an adult wolf (Canis lupus) was introduced as the external force. The wolf sequentially applied pressure through repeated exhalation efforts ("huffing and puffing") to each structure. Success was defined as the ability of the wolf to collapse the house, while failure indicated structural resilience.</p><p>Results  </p><p>The wolf easily destroyed the straw house, indicating minimal resistance to external forces. The stick house displayed slightly greater durability, requiring additional attempts before collapse. However, the brick house withstood all attempts by the wolf to cause structural failure, demonstrating superior resilience.</p><p>Discussion  </p><p>The findings suggest that straw and sticks, while readily available and cost-effective, are insufficient for construction in environments where significant external forces are anticipated. Bricks, despite their higher cost and longer construction time, offer unparalleled durability under pressure. These results align with existing theories of material strength, where denser and more cohesive materials exhibit greater resistance to external stressors.</p><p>Conclusion  </p><p>This study highlights the importance of material selection in construction. Bricks emerged as the optimal choice for structural stability, providing practical implications for building strategies in hostile environments. Further research could explore additional materials and stress scenarios to expand upon these findings.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>In this experimental work, we examine the choice of construction materials for building a house for pigs. This issue is particularly relevant in the context of potential threats from nearby predators. To compare the suitability of sticks, straw, and bricks as building materials, we selected three pigs of different ages. Upon completion of the construction process, we tested the durability of each house using a common predator attack simulation—a wolf's blow. If a house remained under the wolf's blow, we considered it to have passed the crash test.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>As a result, the brick house proved to be the most expensive and required the longest time to build. However, it was the only structure that successfully passed the crash test. In conclusion, we can state that bricks are the best material choice for ensuring safety, while straw and sticks are more suitable for constructing available and quickly built shelters.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The story tells us about the lives of three pigs of different ages, worried about the safety of their lives, due to the presence of an evil and hungry wolf nearby. To protect themselves, the pigs decide to build themselves a solid shelter to protect themselves from a wolf attack. But each pig follows to its own strategy in building a house. The first decides to build a house quickly and cheaply, building it out of straw. Following a similar strategy, the second pig named Porky builds a house out of sticks. At the same time, the third pig turns out to be smarter and decides to build a brick house, he knows that a brick house is much stronger and more safely than any other. Although the third pig spends the most time and money on construction, his ingenuity will help him to fight the wolf. </p><p>One day, a hungry wolf living nearby decides to attack the pigs and eat them. As soon as the pigs saw the wolf, they fled to their homes, hoping that their shelter would protect them. First, the wolf, without straining, blew away the house of the first pig. After that, the wolf had to spend more time, but the second house was blown away. And so, once again, hoping to easily deal with the third house, the wolf took in more air and blew again. The house stood rooted to the spot. And no matter how hard the wolf tried, he couldn't cope with it. </p><p>Thus, we see how important planning is in the construction of your shelter and how much you need to understand the strength of materials in order to stay alive.</p>]]></description>
