1. Who is your main character? How would you describe him/her? My main character's name is Helmuth and I think he is brave and he always wants to know the truth
2. Who are some secondary characters and why are they important to the story?
The most important secondary character is Gerhard because he influences Helmuth the most and helps him out. But they do argue sometimes because they have different opinions.
3. What is the problem or conflict of the book? The problem is that Helmuth wants to know the truth about the Nazi's but nobody will tell him and he knows Hitler is a liar because he said he would bring peace but then he started a war.
4. How is the main character trying to resolve the problem? He tried his hardest in school so that he got a good job that is high up in the government system and he can learn many secrets from those different government leaders.
5. What do you like so far about the book? AND WHY. I like how it talks about how Helmuth is being betrayed by the leader of his country because most books from this time period are mostly from the POV of a jewish person and how times were rough, but this shows a different POV where an actual German citizen isn't believing the lies that Hitler is telling everyone.
6. What don’t you like so far about the book? AND WHY I don't like that it doesn't have much action and the pace moves really slow. Main Character: Em (Edward Michael Goverton) I can assume from the text that he is a teen or someone close to my age. He is going through a tough time because his father just died and him and his mother are not taking it very well and on top of that they have just been robbed. Em is taking it a little bit better then his mother and is trying to keep her as calm as possible so that they can get through this tough time.
Secondary Character(s):

1. Em's Mom she is a very nice person who cares for Em and does everything for him she is just in shock now that her husband has died and she doesn't really know what she could do to ease the pain. She is trying the best that she can to recover from her painful loss

POV: It is told from the point of view of Em so that means it is a first person POV
Setting: The setting is mostly at Em's house and also in Paris where he goes on a trip to try and have fun to get his father's death off of his mind.
Interesting Noticing: I have noticed that some of the characters seem sort of suspicious like they are acting nice but they are really bad guys or villains but I haven't found it out yet

Claim: Em is going through a hard time and is confused about many things
Evidence/Data:
1. Em's mom just sent him off on a vacation with a aman that he barely knew
2. Em is suspicious about the cops and what they are supposed to be doing
3. Em doesn't know what mom is doing and wants to know so that he doesn't have to be worried on his trip
Warrant: Em is going to Paris with a close friend of his dad's Thomas and Em feels very uncomfortable to go with him because he doesn't know him that well the only reason he is going is because whenever he saw Thomas he would always be super nice to him. Em is still very suspicious and confused on why his mom wanted to send him away so bad when she just lost someone so close to her. It also makes me want to keep reading so I can see what happens to Em or his mom.

Main Character: Scott- He is a very smart kid who isn't really into sports but he will watch them with his friends to fit in. He is just beginning his freshamn year of high school and he is very scared to take on this responsibility but with his friends he feels it will all be all right.
Secondary Character(s):
1. Kyle- He is the most coureagous he likes to do stuff that he knows might get them in trouble. He gets into fights with seniors even though he is a freshman just so they think he belongs and he tries to be himself but sometimes when he tries to be like other people he is choosing to be like the wrong people which get him into trouble.
2. Mitch- His friends are scared about him the most because he is always hanging around with this one girl and he doesn't really hang out with them anymore. They are worried because every since this girl showed up his grades kept dropping and they kept seeing him less and less.
POV: 1st Person
Setting: The book takes place mostly at J.P. Zenger high school. Scott, Kyle, and Mitch have dreaded coming to this school ever since they were young. They don't think they will fit in and they think they might get bullied by the older juniors and seniors just because they are new to the school. They always try to get away from the school but they are always ending up in they place they never want to be in.
Interesting Noticing: These 3 boys are terrible of facing High school it's there Freshman year and they promised to always stay together. But as I'm getting through the book I noticed that they are only drifting apart from each other and making new friends which is not what they intended to do. I can see that the friends are more focused on there school work and girls then they are with each other. I want to keep reading to see if these friends will ever have the same relationship that they used to have.

Scott Hudson the main character of my book is very different from his family. He isn't as athletic as most of his family he is more into school then he is with sports. He doesn't have that many friends but the friends he does have mean more to him then anything or anyone else. He really strives to do well in school so his parents will be proud but most of the time he gets made fun of by the seniors.
2. My favorite part in the book is when Scott joins the newspaper club because he thinks the girl he likes is working there also. He gets stuck doing the sports section and figures out the girl he likes was only there to help out a friend. So know he is stuck reviewing sports and he doesn't get anything good out of this. This is important to the story because Since Scott has to keep watching these football games to write about he gets closer to his family who are really into sports.
3. I would recommend this book to another reader especially someone who is just starting high school or is about to start high school it can tell you about it. It can also show you good and bad decisions too make in different situations that you may find yourself in at some point.
4. It reminds me of my sister a little bit because she just started her freshman year and the summer leading up to it she was really freaked out. She was coming up with the worst possible situations in her head making everything seem bad. This also sort of happened in the book but over time my sister and Scott and his friends got used to it and it didn't seem as overwhelming.
5. I was surprised when Scott and his friends had nothing to do on a Friday so they decide to go to a football game where he knows there will be trouble. His friend Kyle got into a fight with a junior at his school and they knew he would be at the football game. Summary: Scott survives his first month as a freshman in high school. He has to go out on Friday night again to review the football game. If he makes any bad comments about the quarterback Vernon or no comments at all he knows that Vernon will be looking for him so he could beat him up. Scott is trying to stay as far away from any of the football players because he can't write anything good about them because they stink. Scott doesn't understand how the football players can't realize that they are bad because they lose every game and haven't scored a touchdown in 2 years.
