Mr. Paul worked for Coopers and Lybrand as an accountant in 1978 and as a bookkeeper in Middle States Construction in 1980. Soon after, he launched Ronald D. Paul Companies, where he oversaw the real estate platform that owned and managed various real estate projects, invested in different real estate types and owned and oversaw different business ventures.

Later, in 1998, Mr. Paul started Eaglebank, raising the bank's revenue from zero to $8 billion. As president, CEO, and chairman, his duties included overseeing the bank's commercial and residential development and investment banking departments until his retirement in 2019. He has also shared how he made Eaglebank a top bank nationwide and a community banking leader.

Outside of work, Mr. Paul founded the Ronald and Joy Paul Kidney Center at George Washington University Hospital to educate the public about kidney disease and transplantation. His hobbies and interests are golf, collecting sports memorabilia, volunteering, and donating to charities. Before his work in banking and real estate, he attended the University of Maryland, where he earned a bachelor of arts in accounting.
