My friends from school call me yaa, the whole school kind of calls me that, except teachers and people who weren’t familiar with me.

 I used to hate being called yaa because I liked my name as it is, but after a while I actually got fond of being called that, because it sounded so endearing. I used to stay in the schools hostel, which is where they gave me a sort of nickname, if you could call it that. I stayed there for about 3 years before I opted for staying outside since I liked staying at home better. I went to school in Seremban and have stayed there for almost 7 years before moving to Putrajaya, so I do miss my old hometown from time to time, especially after I had just moved. Although I do miss Seremban, the people in it, and all the little things about it, I still like living in Putrajaya because it’s so convenient because they have all sorts of public utilities, and it’s also right in the middle of Selangor and KL so you get the best of both states. Plus, the area is so serene and beautiful and I know I  can’t deny that. 

Anyways, I like movies, I like red, green and pink. Can’t wait for the next usrah and what it has in store for us all.

However, this does not mean we should not have high goals in life, but rather that we should take a step back from time to time to appreciate what we have achieved in life. These are some simplified points of what i learnt today. 

Ihsan
-beautifying, doing things beautifully
-worshipping Allah with a sense of muraqabah
-from the word hassan which means goodness
-our naqibah's analogy : like making a curry, the curry as itself is enough, but without the chicken, the potatoes or the lady fingers, the curry feels empty. Thus adding all these other special ingredients can beautify or make the curry taste better. 
-what i understand from this is, the same logic can be applied towards our ibadah; praying five times a day is enough, but adding those 'special ingredients' such as the rawatib prayers can beautify our ibadah

Iman
-the belief in the six articles of faith
-Faith means allowing with the heart, vowing with the mouth and practicing with the body parts

Islam
-A firm belief or faith arising from knowledge and conviction to be convinced with the inner heart, to affirm with the tongue and to carry out actions with various parts of the body

How can we improve our Iman? 

The analogy is, that islam and iman acts as a whole tree, while islam is the trunks, iman is the roots, where the roots must be fertilised to ensure the trunks support and so it does not easily crumble and fall apart. 

We can improve our upgrade our iman by ensuring our prayers quality

-praying in the right way

-trying to be khusyuk while praying

-praying on time

Allah always tests us and we should be grateful when Allah tests us as it shows that Allah wants to test our iman and upgrade our iman.

 

Why does Allah test us?

-Have trust in Allah and tawakkal
-Allah is indeed the best planner and he knows what he has in store for us
-It may be that something you like is not good for you and something you don’t like is the best thing for you
-Make dua’
-In every occasion there is a a silver lining
-The tests are to see how grateful we are to Him

-adab is a process not quality and has to be learnt
-without ahkam there is no peace in life
-ahkam are laws

It felt just like yesterday that i got to know their names and knew them for the first time. I am deeply saddened, especially with the fact that i might not see our facilitator, Kak Athirah again considering the fact that this will be her final semester here. I hope all goes well for her.

We began the final sharing with some of the female figures in Islam including :

  1. Shajar al-Durr
  2. Fatimah Abi al-Qasim
  3. Khawlah Al-Azhar
  4. Nusaybah binti Ka'ab
  5. Arwa al-Sulayhi

They were all strong and independant women whom should be looked up upon, and i aspire to achieve their level of iman.
