         <description><![CDATA[<div>After the war many people did not want anything to do with the Japanese-Americans. They found that even though they could go home it was difficult to return. People did not want them to return. Congress gave $20,000 to any survivor to apologize. The government planned to turn the camps into a useful thing. The Japanese-Americans could return to their homes on December 17, 1944.</div>]]></description>
