Floyd was in a grocery store buying a pack of cigarettes and paid with a $20 bill. A store employee thought it was counterfeit so they called the police. Officer Chauvin and Officer Lane pulled out their guns and told Floyd to put his hands up. They asked him at least 10 times until they got to the point where they pulled him out of the car. They handcuffed him and officer Chauvin pulled Floyd away causing him to stiffen up and fall face down. Chauvin the put his knee on his neck and kept it there for a consecutive 8 minutes and 46 seconds. Floyd was begging for Chauvin to take his knee away as well as saying he couldn't breath and at one point he told him " You're gonna kill me man." People crowded the streets. It was the largest racial justice protests in the U.S since the civil rights movement.
