Even though I only had Ian as a coach for 2.5 years, the impact he had on my life is immeasurable. He changed my life both as a person and a player, and I will never forget the time we had together. Specifically, the story of when I decided to return to soccer after a break. Ian spent his drive back from an away game on the phone, helping me through the process. And at my first practice back, Ian walked me over to my team, so I wouldn’t have to do it alone. That’s selflessness. But that was also just Ian. I never wanted to actually do anything with soccer until he was my coach. He built my confidence like no one else could, he was the reason I began to grow and still is. Ian had a smile like no one else and made an impact on every person he met. He was a different type of coach, he always knew what to say and could turn every situation positive. I’ll never forget the feeling of how he could make me smile after hard loss or how cool it was he let our team play lightning after practice. Ian was a light for everyone around him, and to this day he’s still remembered for the one of a kind person he was. Forever Stowe Strong💚

He showed up to practice with a big smile on his face prepared to raise us into great players and people. The way he treated everyone was so surreal as he continuously spread happiness and wisdom like no one else could. He would never fail to make someone laugh after a bad game! Ian taught me and my family so many lessons that are truly unforgettable. Without him, I would not be playing soccer at the level I am now. He truly changed my life and so many other lives as well. My favorite memories of him are his gnat hat at tryouts, his sunflower seeds during games, him wearing cone hats made by the team, and his huge sock tan line!!
