In the early 1900's when India was fighting its battle against Britain for independence, Mahatma Gandhi had stood up for his country in helping them gain rights. he believed that this country is not for British and they should leave soon so that India could proceed in being successful. Everything Gandhi did, including strikes, fasting and many other things that had not been violent was interpreted very wrongly by the British.
