I have read through the guide and found one issue I will implement in my school. We could discuss the improtance of fresh water in our homes, schools everywhere. As Croatia is a country thta still has a drinking water coming directly from the tap we should ackoweldge that . Also we could go to the nearby river in our town and measure some parametres like amount og oxigen, nitrogene compounds,phosphates... This will eneable us to monitor the water quality. We could do it on weekly basis for some time.
The biggest challenge would be the fact that we are not in our schhol right now so we lack our laboratory.

First of all, it's very important to engage the whole school community on this issue. That's why in my school, for example, teachers and students are required to implement simple measures to stop wasting resources: switching off lights and electrical appliances when not being used, lifting blinds to profit sun light, putting recycling bins in each classroom, using recycled paper... All these little tips are really helpful for our purpose of saving energy and generating less waste.
Apart from developping a school culture of sustainability, we have also started to grow our own vegetables, so that students can be in direct contact with nature, learning how plants cycles work and also measuring the amount of water an chemicals they need to grow them. This experience has been proven to be very interesting and popular among students.

It is not always easy to implement sustainable actions in school when there is no support or encouragement by the school leaders. Ideally sustainable development should be taken as a whole school approach but when this is not always possible, action can be taken at a personal and class level. One example, I experience was when I was told that waste management was not a school priority. As a result I encouraged student in my class and colleagues to start waste separation, and it is working well. Sustainable Mobility is another issue. Due to parking problems in School and traffic congestion, I decided to commute to school with my bicycle. As a result of this some students started coming to school with their e-scooters and work colleagues ask me about the duration of my trip to school.

Thank you for great examples and sources of ideas. We are already carrying out some of the proposed activities in school as part of biology classes and extracurricular activities (eg recycling, collecting plastic plugs, planting trees, a garden with herbs, etc.). I think that the biggest problem is that the activities we carry out are not organized at the level of the whole school, so they are not recognized enough. It will be difficult to bring together people who would work diligently and continuously to promote sustainable development. I believe that cooperation between partner schools would ensure success.

Out of the ideas shown in the video I could borrow to use the3rd: Engage people.
Establishing a student committee and empowering them with the necessary knowledge and skills can be really useful. And the 6th idea : Devise a strategy seems to be connected to the third one. Recording the development and sharing them with people inside and outside of school can increase the number of participants involved in sustainability project. This growth can also give some extra energy and commitment for people already engaged in the project. Circular processes work in every field of our life.

The activities we undertake are aimed at engaging both the entire school community and the immediate environment (parents and grandparents) of our students. The basic actions are to save light and water, segregate waste, do not burn just anything in the furnace. We run a mini vegetable and herb garden on the school yard. We water it with rainwater and fertilize it with our own compost.

I think the Love Every Drop project is very interesting as, starting from local observations, it leads students to reflect on fresh water consumption. The next step is also fundamental, that is to contact the local authorities to involve them in the project. All this leads the children to develop a capable civil conscience necessary to be active and aware citizens.

The guide is really interesting. Some actions have been undertaken in my school, such as DEVELOPING A SCHOOL CULTURE OF sustainability for ex. teachers are integrating the topic in their lessons and the whole school curriculum at different levels, students are part of an international youth climate council. Making a school a model of climate action is important and I think that more can be done to disseminate good practices and impact on local schools.

Get people involved. How would I put it into practice? Through a case study. Involving students in the community using the interview method related to a case study, for example pollution in the area. All these past years me and my collgeus are trying to involve our students but also their parents too in environmental actiities.
Food production procces is one of the most pollutants human activities which effecte the climate. So we made our own small vegetable garden in our school yard and grow vegetables with our students.We are planing to have our own organic vegetables soon and will organize a day of health food using our vegetables as increadiants to cook our own meal.Children will also bring home made foods at school made by their parents and this day will be a celebration about envirnment.Children will realise how important is to produce your own food in an eco friendly way.

I like the idea of not being to ambitious at the beginning, to take small steps, at home, at school in the community. As many other teachers here, I am working in eTw projects about this topic, so, It has a strategy and ideas that were formalised. Some projects were in recycling, water footprint, climate action, climate literate, climate warriors and so on. What is still missing and that I would like to try this year, is to involve the municipality; I don't know what they will say (probably yes but then it they participate with us, I don't know) Sometimes, what is difficult, it to keep the engagement of the partners and students til the end.

The ideas presented in the video are great and I totally believe that we have to involve and educate the students to achieve results in the future. What is more, parents, teacher and the community should be included to achieve wide-reaching effects.
Integrating ESD with a curriculum and external relationships is quite a challenge. Obstacles could be the already high work load among teachers and students, we would have to find lessons/time to develop and integrate the ideas. Projects weeks/months or years would be great as a single lesson per week rather demotivates than motivates students.

Involve students, that's the key and that's why I really appreciate the ideas coming up from this module documents. Sustainable education must not only come from reading and studying about it, but from acting, so it must become an everyday attitude. How? Sharing knowledge, building up a community inside the school and keep in touch with the outside world both in terms of activism and by getting parents and the people of the neighborhood actively involved in what students do and create at school : flea markets, relation to associations working in the area etc.

The 4th proposal in ESD "Develop the curriculum" is an initiative that I want to implement at school. Because I think that climate education can be included in many course curricula at school. I started an eTwinning project on this subject. The name of our project is "Climate Literate". In our project, we are trying to integrate climate education into the courses in the school curriculum such as science, environmental education, physics, chemistry, biology, ICT, social studies, geography, English, mother tongue, painting, music. But the biggest challenge we face is that we don't have enough time. Because the school curriculum includes too much other academic subjects. Therefore, we cannot devote enough time to the issue of climate change. The best way to overcome this is to talk about climate change in all classes.

This is the program of a conference kept in my school. The title was: " Educating to sustainability and responsible food consumerism". Agencies and agronomic companies were invited to discuss and share proposal objectives and good practice in the field of environmental integrity related to awareness in consumerism and waste reduction. This is, in my opinion, a interesting way to create a net of cooperation among schools, different levels of education, entrepreneurs labor world and civic agencies which operate in the territory. Because personal good practices can be just a drop in the ocean if there isn't a cooperation with local and national policies and rules.
The ideas given in the guides are extremely bright and helpful to integrate the practices and lectures that are done in my school. Having hands on the matter, like measuring the energy used in the school is really intriguing.

This year we participated in the project "Plant a tree, don't be a stump" in my school, the students really liked it and now we have made bird feeders in the winter, we plan to decorate the yard of our school with seedlings in the spring. With this approach, we try to develop students' awareness of nature conservation from an early age. I hope that we will expand the landscaping project to the local community.

I think it will be useful to follow the steps in the video. And the approaches in the guide are very valuable. I have already formed an action team of students at our school. But mostly new and other branch teachers have just started to deal with the subject. I think that every course teacher should be able to jointly carry out more comprehensive projects by being a part of the team. The ideas/steps stated in the video have been listed logically as it aims to take small steps. The ideas are very interesting. As I work with young children I would use an introductory video to begin with. The goal of watching would be to understand how everyone can work for the good of our planet. Each of us can do one good thing and we will initiate change.
To begin with, we will study how paper is created (video, articles, library). We will study how we can recycle paper ourselves.
We will make a box to collect old paper.
We will make new paper from the old one ourselves and we will make Christmas cards from it.

The concept of sustainability in education is definitely something that must be included in the curriculum and the only way to do that is to include it into the curriculum across all subjects. In my school we have pupils in year 7, 8 and 9 (11- 12-13 years old) who are 'eco-members' in order to spread messages through posters like learning how to sort out our food waste, clean classrooms... we have a mini allotment where they grow artichokes, strawberries, cherry tomatoes, pumpkins...some groups of pupils also have a whole day cleaning on a beach as we live not far from the coast in Brittany.

I live in Isparta, one of the cities in Turkey known as the region of lakes. There are many precious lakes around us. Salda lake, which is likened to the surface of Mars, Eğirdir lake, which meets the drinking water of the city, and Gölcük lake, which is a natural wonder as a crater lake, are some of them. Our students have visited these lakes, which are easily accessible, many times. They see by experience how our lakes, which are a source of fresh water, are withdrawn day by day. Those whose families are engaged in agriculture tell their problems to their classmates. This is a great project topic for us.

2-Water ambassadors game is played by students
3- Water footprint calculation is done

I worked in a Ersmus Project about sustainability and about the Forest and its importance for Humankind. Forest is a precious natural resource that plays a central role in the balance and sustaining of life on Earth. Forests are essential in atmosphere equilibrium, in maintaining the water cycle and biodiversity and in balancing weather and climate. Forests and trees support sustainable agriculture, they stabilize soils and climate, regulate water flows. we developed alot of activities to make the students and population in general, decisionmakers included, aware of the importance of taking care of the Forest and to renew and extend endemic forest areas. For that we want to exchange experiences from different countries and to influence positively the way people consider Forests. The outcome of the project, the tree plantation was the beginning of a greater forestation plan in the area and continued until today.

The ideas presented are mostly made in our school. Unfortunately the involvement of all teachers is an impediment , as well as the involvement of local agents .

My school has been an eco school for 20 years. I was a student in the school and I really developed ecological thinking so that eco is part of my life. I also share all the ideas in my house but also in my class. We have eco school committee which decides on important topics. We always celebrate all eco days and everything concerning ecology and Earth. My goal is that other schools become eco schools too. I work in other school which is not eco school and I have a group of students so I'll try to change the situation in our school. Students are very aware of all bad sides of climate change. It's their future and they want to act on it. We are working on an etwinning project "Let's go green" wthi students from France, Turkey, Poland and Spain and we all share our eco activities.

We have working team composed of students, teachers and staff.We meet three times a year to discuss future projects to implement and decide on actions. Students have created a logo for this purpose.
we have implemented different bins for waste - paper /cardboard/garbage every waste is sorted
we have implemented two compost bins
we have planted trees in the courtyard
eco-representative students are in charge to switch off lights, shut windows to save energy
at the canteen students can choose their portion of food to avoid wasting food
we participate in a community vegetable garden in the school neighbourhood to learn how to grow our own food
there are workshops to learn how to make slow cosmetics
there are workshops to learn how to upcycle clothes
we have created a virtual company to learn how to sell in a e-shop
participation to a project for the creation of sustainable companies “Créons ensemble”/ creating together
we have cleaned beaches with the surfrider foundation
we have created and played games about environment
we are involved in Etwinning projetcs about environement
we also have an instagram page for our sustainable actions #E3DSVPBX

Everyday and by small acts our school tries to improve environmental sustainability and our school teachers and staff are ready to continue encouraging students and make them capable to take decisions for tomorrow.

All the ideas are presented are excellent. In every school I have worked so far, I tried to raise awareness on sustainability by organising projects and activities such as clearing a beach, recycling, reusing items (books, paper, bottles), throwing campains for using less plastic, making christmass ornaments and cards with reusable materials or materials from the nature. The challenge is there is not enough time because these are extra activities and it is difficult to implement them in the curriculum. Another problem is that in greek schools there are not proper facilities.

There are lots of interesting ideas which could be implemented in my school. This school year I am running the eTwinning project S.E.C.H-Sustainable Education and Cultural Heritage. I really hope that through the project my students will become responsible citizens and will act as agents of change in their community and beyond.

Şeniz /Turkey I encourage my students to bring their lunch box filled with homemade food and fruit and vegetables so that they can reduce buying things from outside and eat healhty foods and in this way we can also use the waste materials by making compost.

_{I truly believe in the power of education. But there's something that has been bothering me lately:
How effective is education? Are kids really engaged in changing or are they just doing what they're told to do?

Sometimes I feel like they're just saying what we want to hear, without a real interest in changing.
Some other times I feel very positive, that what we're doing has a real impact on kids, according to the many wonderful comments I get from educators all around the world.

Schools in Portugal have merged, so now most of them are big 'industries' with thousands of students, hundreds of teachers and other staff. As you can imagine it's very hard to move or change anything in such gigantic environments. But, little by little, we are getting there! 😉}

Actually the course has provided the inspiration for an eTwinning project in which my school is currently participating. Together with colleagues from six other european countries we will try to implement many of the ideas proposed for teaching sustainable development. The goal is to promote environmental awareness to our students and try to transform our school by adopting ecofriendly strategies into our daily routine.

There are too many ideas to implement in my school but it is too hard to colaborate with other teachers and parents. I consider the video to be useful and those 6 steps represent a valuable approach. Also, the article helped me find the answer to some of the questions I was having.
As I teach Romanian Language and Literature, I could start making my students aware of the Global Climate Crisis by reading a story about how one single person can make a change and can be an example for others. After that, I would present them with the options we have for creating a better world: renewable energy, energy-efficient appliances, reduced water waste etc.
As I like to encourage critical thinking and the ability of making decisions, we could come up together with ideas of what can we do to become a more eco friendly school.

The basic/must-have steps to implementing a sustainable project seem important and a very well-structured plan.
We have a wide range of eco-schools in Portugal and we are attentive to many sustainable practices. As a teacher of english, with a module on the environment, I can always expand the teaching of these actions.

In my school, we do a lot of activities mentioned in the booklet. However, I think we still have to learn how to involve stake-holders in our community and disseminate our results in order to have a bigger impact in our town. For example, we could work collaboratelly with schools in our town and also send press releases to media in our local agencies.

I found the guidelines really useful to reflect on the sustainability level of my school. My collegues and me often teach sustainability in out classroom and we try to do it in a cross-curricular way. Although, we have never set up a climate action team or organized projects about sustainability.

I think the guide is very useful. We have to engage students, teachers, comunity. Starting with small steps is very important. We have an etwinning project "Let's learn outdoors" with kindergarten and young primarys school students and we work also all this and we try to involve not only students but also their families and the community.

As it is mention in the video we need an action plan that engages students and the community, links to the curriculum and helps us to connect with other schools and colleagues. The challenge we´ll face is mainly the difficulty to create multidisciplinar projects since the educational system do not promote this kind of teaching-learning. We could overcome this by trying hard to introduce this issue in the classroom from different subjects in a cooperative and sensible way.

My school was part of a network of green schools not too long ago. But in the last few years only a few teachers have tried to carry out environmental initiatives. I have already spoken to the school management and we are going to relaunch the work, following the six steps mentioned in the WWF video. There were many useful ideas in the resources. As we have students from 12 to more than 20 years old, we can adopt one or the other depending on the grades.

Most of the activities are feasible for my class. E.g *visiting local forest *recycling *conserving energy and water*teach climate change in all subject areas*create posters for climate crisis*design and maintain school garden. However the challenges for that project will be to make everyone in the school and in the community to understand and believe in the necessity of taking actions for climate crisis and thereafter to partcipate in environmental activities and change their personal attitude in every day life.

I find the ideas in the guide and the short guidelines in the video really insightful. It is important that the whole school community is engaged in the ESD initiatives implemented at school. Everyone has a role to play. What is more, climate change should be taught in all subjects in order to address the issue from various perpectives. However, there might be problems of disagreements, reservations and reluctance in participating as so many people would be involved. Good planning of the action procedure with no obscurities can be really helpful.

I am really into creating oportunities to embed sustainability in the curriculum. From my experience I know that the students need to get in touch with very specific problems to find solutions and it is better for them if they feel that they are actually doing something. I think sometimes it is better to start with individual and simple actions to be able to understand the big picture.

For every idea, I feel that I need to raise the awareness first.Sustainability is another point to get the best benefit from the actions or projects. However, shools have lots of limitations. So I think we should learn to cooperate with the organisatoions or stakeholders and engaging people is the key point of impact of the actions.
