This is one of my FAVORITE movies!  It is based on a true story, and shows how the love of Christ can take an impossible situation and bring goodness from it.  The story is set in the Civil Rights movement time, in Birmingham, Alabama, where there was a lot of violence and segregation occuring.  One of the high school football teams was visited by a sports chaplain, who encouraged them to dedicate their lives to Christ.  Through their newfound faith, this team helped transform their entire town so that everyone would be treated as an equal.  I think it's only PG, and there isn't any language or anything questionable in it....there is some violence, but other than that, it is totally fine!]]> 2017-12-15 16:32:25 UTC https://padlet.com/SumerBelle22/GoodMoviesToWatch/wish/216542992 https://padlet.com/SumerBelle22/GoodMoviesToWatch/wish/233572575
I just wanted to give a quick warning about the movie "Rip Tide" on Netflix. Netflix rates it TV-Y7, but after about 15 minutes there was an inappropriate scene, so I turned it off. I think that Netflix must have mislabeled it, because it should probably have been a Pg-13 rating. I would definitely suggest watching it. It's based on the true story of a teen boy who comes with his family from Puerto Rico to the United States and gets involved in drugs and gangs. He eventually becomes addicted to heroin, but is saved through Jesus Christ, and is freed from his addiction. It's a really cool and inspiring movie! The movie is PG-13, and I think that it is mostly for the violence and drugs, and there are also some scenes where he is going through drug withdrawal that are rather intense. I watched it with my whole family. Even tho it is a "little kid" movie it was still moving. For the most part it is correct with the Bible. There are some senses that are not correct but I would highly request you to sit down with your family and watch this movie. More teen based movie.]]> 2018-04-10 18:52:06 UTC https://padlet.com/SumerBelle22/GoodMoviesToWatch/wish/250446391 https://padlet.com/SumerBelle22/GoodMoviesToWatch/wish/252334805 I don't know if any of you guys have Pureflix, but I was watching a movie on there that was called "Heaven's Rain".  It was really good, but I would defenitely say that you don't want to watch it with younger kids because of the subject.  It is a totally Christian movie, and there isn't any swearing...however, some of the topics that are discussed are pretty adult and intense.  It is a true story, about a very young Senator who is remembering a horrible event that happened 10 years ago, when two men broke into his house, murdered his parents, and left him and his sister badly wounded.  He and his sister escaped, but the senator was very bitter for the next 10 years, until he visited one of the murderers in prison and actually forgave him in this really powerful scene.  One of the amazing things is that the real Senator who went through all this played his own father in the movie. While I thought the movie was very moving, it was also intense with the many flashbacks that the Senator and his sister had of the murder, as well as his sister talked about some of the horrible things she had to experience that night. So if you happen to see this movie on Pureflix and are considering watching it, I would really suggest that you run it by your parents first or watch it with them, because it is intense. It is a great Christian movie, though, so if you do watch it, the scene where he forgives one of the murders is incredible! HIs father gives him a love dare and he has to do it for 40 days.
