1. Thomas Jefferson gives specific details on the leadership of Louis XVI. This may be useful as evidence in case future parties are in need of a detailed account of Louis XVI.

2. This memoir may be less useful as evidence on the leadership of Louis XVI as it is not an account from a person who fully experienced Louis' rule. Thomas Jefferson was not an active contributor to the French Revolution, and did not live in France.

1. This passage is useful as evidence about Louis XVI because Thomas Jefferson lived in Paris, and had first hand experience with Louis XVI's rule. Coming from a political point of view as US. Foreign Minister, he has a good idea of how a government/country is well run.

2. This is an opinion of Thomas Jefferson, and because he comes from a country with a democratic government, he might have biases against a monarchy and how a monarchy runs a government.

1)Thomas Jefferson states mainly the cons of Louis' rule. This will probably be used as evidence because it doesn't just state the problems with his thinking, it also states the problems with his actions.

2) He is only stating the problems of Louis. This implies that it could be a biased source.

1) Thomas Jefferson was the U.S. foreign minister to France so he had an important view. He was able to describe the leadership of King Louis the XVI because he lived in France during his rule. Therefore this document is a very helpful peace of evidence to display his leadership.
2) This is a less helpful piece of evidence because Thomas Jefferson may have been biased. It also was written 32 years after the French Revolution. Therefore he may have incorrectly remembered the events of the French Revolution.

1. Thomas Jefferson had first hand experience with the ruling techniques of King Louis XVI, so his memoir would contain useful evidence about the flaws about his rein on France during the French Revolution.

2. The source may be less useful as evidence about the leadership of Louis XVI during the French Revolution because it was written about 30 years later, which could lead to impaired memories of this time. His views could also be bias, and this bias could cloud the truth of what actually happened.

1) This memoir is useful in showing how King Louis the 16th was as a ruler. Thomas Jefferson was already experienced in politics when he wrote this memoir, so he is able to identify the different leadership skills. He described the different levels of King Louis the 16th's skills.

2) Thomas Jefferson may have had bias or misunderstandings about what was happening. Also it was only from one persons point of view. Thomas Jefferson also held a n important position and may not have seen it from the point of view of a paesent.

1. At that time, the US and France were on relatively friendly terms, as they shared the common enemy of Great Britain. Jefferson, holding an important government position, would likely have some sort of experience or knowledge of France's king. Jefferson describes how Louis XVI meant well, but his weak decision-making skills impaired his leadership.
2. This source is not a primary source but a secondary one, as Jefferson was not there in France to witness how well or how poorly King Louis XVI actually ruled.

1. Thomas Jefferson provides insight on King Louis' good intentions but his failure to efficiently rule over the constitution, as well as his own words. Jefferson also tells the reader the King was too gullible to his wife's arguments.

2. The document is the personal opinion of Thomas Jefferson, so it makes the information less reliable. In addition, the document is a secondary source. Therefore, it may not be the best to use as evidence.

1. Thomas Jefferson states that King Louis was a leader with good intentions, but his weak mind, timid constitution, and bad judgment inhibited him from becoming a successful king. This passage can be used as evidence that he was an incapable and poor leader.
2. However, this source [Jefferson] may not be a reliable source of evidence because Jefferson only lived in Paris in 1789. Thus, he may not have enough experience with Louis XVI to know h
