Living in the new technological era, some of us tend to take things easier, we become negligent in self-improvement as we are heavily relying on technology to run our day-to-day agenda.

However, we must adapt to this era and we must develop our own way of learning by continuously improving ourselves through training programmes. We need to have self-discipline to prepare ourselves for consistently learning new aspects of skills.

But why should we have to do this?

The future of work has exponentially evolved in a short period of time. The working force might potentially face a completely different set of problems in later years and should therefore strive to anticipate the issue and attain skills to solve it.

For example; financial institutions might have never dreamt of the kiosks employed in banks nowadays; previously accounting firms must manually prepare the statement of comprehensive income and financial statement, however there are accounting software’s such as MYOB and FACT.

Basically, automation has changed the way we work.

In this age, the importance of soft skills is also heavily stressed. The knowledge of persuasion, of critical thinking and analytical skills can serve to open new opportunities. Hence, we should be willing to venture out of our comfort zone. Otherwise, we would lag.

Lastly, we should seek to understand the process behind systems of nature and technology to ensure a thorough chance of survival in this world.

we should always try new activities to gain new experiences and get the chance to know what we are good at. we might have hidden talents in different aspects of life and this would help us greatly as we might be passionate about the new activities we try. when we try new activities we gain more knowledge and we are exposed to more things and people around us. by trying new activities and things , it teaches us that we are more capable than we think we are. by trying different stuff , we can get to know ourselves better and keep on improving and overcome our fears. when we try new things, we put our brain to unique situations and this would make our brain think harder this would then stimulate our creativity.

lifelong learning
we should continue learning as we grow older as the society is continuously changing and upgrading. by upgrading ourselves this ensures we are staying relevant. we need to be equipped with many skills these days as technology is constantly upgrading. we should also stay relevant as when we fall back, we might lose our jobs and be in jeopardy. there is a Chinese saying huo dao lao xue dao lao. this means that no matter how long we live, we should always keep learning.

Some advice that I have picked out from the video is :

We have to stay rooted to our beliefs because that is our stem of creativity. In this ever-changing society , we have to stay relevant. To go out of our own ways to strive for achievements , we have to think uniquely to find ideas that no one else ever thought of . That is why creativity is absolutely essential.

We have to try out and learn new things. In this fast-paced and dynamic society, it is important that we keep up to date with new happenings so we are always on the ball. Especially with the constantly improving technology, people of all generations should discover and learn new technologies. Moreover, it is crucial that

we learn new skills that are relevant to not only our work but also to our lives.

(1)It is important for everyone to learn continual learning so as to adapt to the changing demands of society. This will allow them to be flexible and prevent them to lose out in society, enabling them to meet requirements or various jobs at one go.for example, skills future allows Singaporeans to learn more skills outside of their jobs so that they are equipped with a better skillset.
(2) As we are improving, technology is also improving as well, showing that we need to improve our knowledge of machinery. In the close future, machinery will be everywhere so a lot of jobs will require skill sets to operate the machinery. for example, more working adults are learning on various IT skills so that they are able efficiently so other tasks in the case where their task becomes automated

Creativity skills cannot be programmed so the machines are incomparable to humans . As humans are able to imagine something within ourselves whereas machines are automated .
Humans should hone skills , being core skills or critical thinking skills and never stop learning as the job that they wanted may not be available anymore 10 years later .
Regardless of age we should continue to upgrade ourselves even if we are employed so that we would be relevant in the world when technology is able to take over our current jobs .
Robots cannot feel what humans feel since they are programmed . As the world became more digitalised , companies invest more on machines to enhance customers' experience for their business to prosper as the services that they provide is more efficient .
All in all , the main takeaway is to be a life long learner and always have back up plans for ourselves .

We have to work closely with machines. Machines can ease our workload and increase productivity, but at the same time we have to ensure that we do not get replaced by them by honing our creative skills. Creative skills is something that machines do not have, hence by honing our skills, we can remain a valuable asset to our company and will not get replaced.
We also have to take every opportunity presented to us, even if it's not the kind of opportunities we were hoping for. We can gain experience from the opportunities given to us and broaden our knowledge.

I feel that we need to constantly change in order to keep up with technology and the future of work so as to stay relevant and not stagnate. In order to do so, we need to be able to be self-directed in learning and develop crucial skills like complex problem solving and handling technology so that we will not be redundant in a world where technology integrated into our lives and work.

We also need to be willing to try out new things to discover new talents unknown to ourselves. This will give us more opportunities to interact with the society, allowing us to better prepare for the world.

As students graduate and enter the workforce, they will no longer be doing manual work as such jobs get replaced by machines. Thus, they will need to be able to work with machines and have a different set of technical skills as compared to graduates 10 years ago.
