He is sent to a juvenile detention center called Camp Green Lake, where he and other boys are forced to dig holes every day as part of their punishment</p><p>Plot summary:<br>Stanley is wrongfully accused of stealing a pair of famous sneakers and ends up at Camp Green Lake, which is actually a dry desert with no lake. At the camp, he discovers that digging holes is not just about building character; there’s a hidden reason behind it. The warden is searching for something buried in the ground. Throughout his time at the camp, Stanley forms friendships, especially with a boy named Zero, and learns about his family’s history and curses that have affected them for generations.</p>]]></description>
