She knows the land really well and knows about plants that are edible. She helped them dig roots and find other types of food. She showed men how to make leather clothes to keep them warm and protected. Sacagawea is from Knife River Indian Villages. 


The second person I would choose to go on a long trip across the country with me isn’t a human but it’s a dog. I would take with me Seaman the dog because not only would he be good company and keep you entertained on the long trip. He can be taught actions that are incredible like hunting and sensing danger. He is very docile and loving so he wouldn’t hurt anyone unless commanded too.

  • Food/Portable soup. I think that Food is important because you can’t survive without food. And if they bring food with them then they don’t have hunt for food so they don’t have a risk of not finding any

    • 2) Clothes. I say that clothes are very important because clothes help to protect people from exposure and getting sick being cold from rain. Clothes help to keep you warm during the cold and rainy days and protect you from wounds a little. 

    3)  Weapons and ammo because they need to use something to protect themselves from any possible danger. Like if someone or something was to try and attack them they need a way to protect themselves. 

    4) Medicine supplies. Medicine supplies are a must have because they help to keep people from becoming to sick. And if someone gets wounded or hurt you have medicine to help heal and soothe the pain. 

    5) Compass. I think that a compass is a must because it will help you to know the direction you are going. So just incase you get off the trail you can still navigate.

Finding this in this part of the country let them know that there are bad animals that could cause a lot of danger. And because they learned about this bear they could better protect themselves. They could help american by fur trade and food. 

    One plant that they had found was called the botanical plant. This plant not only looks pretty but can help you with your health and food. This crop added to the food supply for America. They also can help make different spices and other things like that. You can use the plant and trade and make things with it.

They hunted buffalo and also farmed. They lived in oven-shaped houses covered in mud that are grouped into towns. They suffered from smallpox and a lot died so the remaining tribe combined with the Missouri Indians. The tribe was on good terms with Lewis and Clark. They held council meeting to settle things about the land. And said that he wanted to be on good terms with all the indian tribes and they all should get along in order to have a strong force.
