Warning: I, Myself, and my life in general is normal but I hope you still tag along till’ the end!

In the world, we can see differences, especially among classes. How we dress, how we talk, or even how we deal with situations. But one difference that is unacceptable for me but is immensely relevant in the Philippines is that those less fortunate do not have the same opportunities as those who are well off. Thus, I want to be able to fight for quality education for all because I believe that this is the key to helping those people lead a better life away from inequality and oppression.

Side Note: I love this song because it's catchy but at the same time holds a significant message especially for us, younger generation, to look at our reflections and see where we need to improve and change in order to also help those in need. 

Even as a young child, my mama has always instilled in me many values, but the one that has always struck me is "To Do What Is Just and Right". This means being able to achieve my goals while also being aware of the circumstances and the people around me, being able to see injustices and acting up against them, and being able to simply choose and do what is right even in the face of unfortunate scenarios. Another is "Living Not Just For Myself but also for Others" or simply being compassionate, especially to those who need it the most. I stand by this by treating all people equally, no matter their appearance or social status. Thus, I believe that these values will help me live a fulfilling life.

I dream of becoming a pilot. Honestly, if you asked me why, the simple answer would be that it looks cool. But truly, being a pilot is something that I’ve dreamt of since I was in the 7th grade, because apart from being able to travel to multiple places, I would be able to bring people closer to their loved ones, provide opportunities, and even provide experiences of a lifetime. This also explains why I chose to be in PRE EA to hopefully become an engineer, then proceed to flying school. 

When I was in fourth grade, I had the opportunity to study and live in Newcastle, Australia, where I saw life in a whole new light. I had so many wonderful experiences that I never imagined I could have, for which I am always grateful. I can truly say that my childhood was one for the books.

To be honest, I am one of the most normal people that you will ever encounter. Ever since I was young, I did not really excel in anything, and up to this day, despite having multiple hobbies and interests, I have always just been mediocre in everything. But I think that it's what makes me stand out from everyone else—being "normal." I used to be insecure because I was not as academically smart as other kids, or because I could not dance or sing as well as my classmates, but as I grew older, I realized how this became a way for me to grow not just in one aspect but in multiple others. Being this way makes me work harder and try a lot of things that peak my interest. It makes me explore, which makes for experiences of a lifetime. This trait of mine also made me a deep thinker, making me act and think like an older person would—what my words could do or what my actions would bring and who they could impact. Thus, being normal isn’t bad after all, because through it, I get to be aware of my surroundings and the people around me, which makes me a better person every day. 

I am no William Kamkwamba or Luther King but I have a dream of being able to positively influence people, specifically, the youth, through my actions and words. I want to be able to experience a moment wherein a person looks at me and says “I want to be like her”, not by my physical appearance but the way I act towards others. And so, I always make sure to act with kindness and respect whoever I may encounter, not only for my personal happiness but also to tell a message that there is always a reason to do good even in the simplest of ways. 

At first, I was really curious on this topic because I know that media influences our lives in a lot of ways. Just like how the pictures we see on social media makes us want to be a certain kind of person, or how the news makes us build judgement on people. 

Thus, I realized that although media, especially for us younger generations, is entertaining, but, we also have to be aware of what it may bring in our lives. And so, like what this subject aims to, we should educate ourselves on media usage so that we know how to handle it properly.
