My ancestors from Ireland often used the slogan "Erin Go Bragh" meaning "Ireland Forever" to preserve their Irish heritage when they migrated to the States.  My Dad and Mom wanted me to have a strong Irish name to celebrate my heritage. My grandmother told me when I was 12 that my great-grandmother immigrated to the U.S from Ireland on the last voyage of the Lusitania before it sank.  

Donohue is also an Irish name which I inherited from my Dad. It originally spelled  O'Donoughe  before my great-grandfather came  to the states where they shortened it to "Americanize" it. 

Marsh is my husbands last name and I took his name when we married in 2009. 

I have never wanted to change my first or last name I loved the meaning.
