Alice and Coraline are very similar in the way that they both feel like outsiders and misunderstood in their own communities. They both find themselves in what they think is a better perfect world. Coraline is from Michigan, United States and Alice is from Britain. Along Coraline's journey Sebastion the cat helps out Coraline and guides her through her journey in beating her evil other mom and saving the other kids that she has trapped. Alice's journey is also similar to this because The Cheshire Cat helps Alice through her journey through Wonderland and helps her. They are both stuck in a fantasy world and must overcome challenges and along the way they meet new friends, for example, Coraline meets Sebastion, Wybie, Mr. Bobinsky, Miss Spink, and Mrs. Lovat. Some help Coraline and some don't want the best for her. In Alice in Wonderland, Alice meets the Cheshire Cat, the King and Queen of Hearts, the White Rabbit, and the Hatter. Some try to help Alice through her journey and some do not but both Coraline nor Alice don't know who's trying to help them or hurt them at the beginning of their new fantasy worlds.

beginnings vs endings of each story

at the beginning of Coraline, she moves into a house with her parents. She goes and explores and runs into a cat which will be with her for the rest of the movie. In Alice and wonderland, Alice is by a river bank and a rabbit appears which she will be with for the rest of the story. We can also see that both characters are bored in the beginning and have nothing to do. At the end of the story, both characters wake up back at home and out of the other worlds they were in.

The theme of Coraline in her movie is her finding her identity, her quest to be appreciated and loved, she pays a consequence just like Alice. By being mysterious for example when the rat leads Coraline to the door into a new world of everything she wanted. Attention, Great food, and loving parents. Compared to Alice and The rabbit leading her to the dark hole.
