  • Size – a sketchbook is not a notebook. It needs to be large enough to display a collection of large and medium size images across a double page spread. You will need to buy something A4 or larger (approximately).
  • Paper Quality – pages should be plain (not lined) good quality drawing paper. A high quality paper will allow you to use wet media such as paints and inks. 
  • Format – a 'stitched' or square bound book (or hardcover) will usually have better quality papers.  A paper or card outer cover will allow you to customise the book to your own style. Its important that you enjoy and feel proud of your sketchbooks!!
  • Avoid plastic covers, and spiral or metal bindings.
