How do you think you are working on them?

For Communication skills and Collaboration skills, Ms. Nicole has taught us how to use our facial expressions and body language to express to the audience how we feel without saying it. She has also told us the method of using Subtext, Subtext is just saying something but we mean something else. For example, "I'm fine" but I mean, I'm not actually "fine," I just don't want you to worry about it. That's one of the example.

How are you working towards this in regards to the work you are making?

I struggle with performing in front of my peers but I'm slowly getting over my fear of stage fright, because performing can be fun and we're only doing it with our classmates. Hopefully, in the future, I can get over it.

This is our practice/rehearsal before we perform our act. We were given a piece from D.N.A., and we had to act out in our way and twist.

We were all discussing the act from D.N.A and how can we present our ideas. Ms. Nicole showed us her projector and we had a play with it to understand how to use the machine. I think that is helpful and a very fun idea to add on.

We were exploring Artistic Intentions Guidance when Ms. Nicole showed us this light projector thing and we were playing around with it, so we decided to record how we were testing it out and this is the video we have.

Lesson #1

For lesson 1, we explored sub-text. Ms. Nicole told us about sub-texts and how they had different meanings behind what you mean. We were given a script to follow and use sub-text in it. I really enjoyed that class because I worked with new people and got to explore the use of sub-text and body language. Most of Ms. Nicole's work that she gives us to do, mostly don't have that many lines, because she likes it when we express how we feel when we act through our facial and body language which I found fun, instead of saying some lines and boring long speeches we got to express through a better way.

In lesson 2 we were given a mini script to act out with new people- not the people we worked with in our previous class- and try out different ways that we could express and show the setting and characters based on how we reenacted it.

People can interpret things differently based on how they see it or understand it. I think Ms. Nicole was trying to show us that there are different ways we can act a scene out. I think we were successful in what were trying to achieve. I was really surprised with the end result, I didn't know we could show so many ways of interpreting the small script.

I know this semester I worked with the same people a lot, but I think that just shows that our class has our comfortable group and we just work well with everyone

In lesson 3, Ms. Nicole projected this on the board and asked us if we knew what any of these meant, or if we didn't know what it meant. We were partnered up and supposed to recreate some of these to understand/show the meaning of these words. My group included Mani, Nicky/Nicole, Ella, and me. We did thought tracking, thought tracking is acting but all of a sudden, you stop and step out and express how you feel, and afterward you go back into acting normal.

Por also has to be onstage for the entirety of Act 2. When she came on, Ms. Nicole said that it changed the tone of the performance from serious to something less.- this is from Ella's padlet because we used one padlet for our note-taking today.

In today's lesson, we had a substitute but we just focused on our script from the D.N.A.

We decided to put the 2 scenes together and see if it would work well together but we kept forgetting our lines and had to re do it over and over again.

In this class, we focused on our staging and how we should do our ending. Ms. Nicole wanted us to move to the side so that we don't block our shadow- who is Mani. Our ending was kind of strange, we decided that Adam should come back to life and there was a lot of laughing to present that Adam will never die, but Ms. Nicole didn't like that

We tried many many and I mean MANY endings to our act, each ending was different and unique. Some of our endings were even singing and screaming or laughing hysterically. But in the end, we chose a simple ending instead, our ending was just having Adam die after the plastic bag went on him. We went through so much and experimented with so many different techniques of ending. Over all sometimes simple is best. This is really something we should reflect on more especially in drama since people would think you should be over the top and express everything, but there's just time when small things are just as great or even better, it helps complete the story.
