Since then, a rush of miners has flooded the state. Personally, I've been thinking about moving West myself with all this talk of gold. Anyways,  California used to be filled with Native Americans and  Californios or people of Spanish or Mexican decent. There were about 150,000 Native Americans and 6,000 Californios. Ever since Jamers Marshalls discovery, the state is growing. Miners have found gold in Rivers and streams within California territory. Most of the people rushing to California are young men, due to the dangerous journey. Americans are slowly begging to push out Native Americans.
