I can learn that I need to help others in need, just like if they were to help me. During Lent, this is a great message with a lesson to learn because Lent is all about giving up ourselves and devoting our time to God and others. Lent is a time of self-giving. It is important to remind ourselves during this time to perform good among others, because it is pleasing in the eyes of God and will be beneficial for us and the person we're helping as well. We also need to be careful about what we're giving to others, because we can't just give them something they're not going to benefit from. Like Jesus said, we can't give our neighbor a stone when he asked for a loaf of bread. Giving time, healthy food, love, kindness, and generosity to our neighbors are a few examples of what God wants us to do. He is my god who I praise because he will protect me. The Psalm praises his greatness and about how he is my God. The Psalm reminds me of how the Lord is our Father that protects us throughout the world. It tells me how I should be filled with joy because someone important cares about how I am as a person. I love how the Psalm states, "When I cried out, you answered me," to see how he is there for me. While reading the passage, Jesus says that if you knock, the door will be open to you. He also says that if you ask, you shall receive. I like this scripture the most because it tells me that if I ask God for something through prayer, he will answer me. It also tells me that if I ask for something (like good grades, opportunities, etc.) then I will receive it, as long as I work hard. It also says, "Which one of you would hand your son a stone, when he asked for a loaf of bread; or a snake when he asked for a fish?" I think that means if you wouldn't want someone to do this to give something to you don't do it. But if you do what you would want people to do to you god will be good to you. I think i can relate to this because sometimes I will do something to others that i wouldn't want to be done to me but not all the time. There has been times where i did something good for someone and something good has returned to me. Sometimes it can be hard to remember that God is with us, since we can't really see him. But when I read the scripture, I remember that God IS with me, and God is ALWAYS here to answer my prayers. I can see that God wants us to do good and find our way in life showing others we care. After reading this passage I can tell God wants to listen to what we have to say, and He wants to answer all our prayers. In the passage it tells me I can be patient and ask for something I need. Reading this passage can help me with Lent because it teaches me to keep pushing forward and be confident in what I do. This passage can help me with Lent by doing something I need to be productive and putting effort into it. If you want Gods help and call out to him, he will answer you. You might have to dig a bit deeper for his answer but, it's there. When he answers you it might not always be super obvious. I also gathered that it said to treat others how you would treat them. I think it is important to call for him because he will always answer you. What I can learn from them is that if your a bad person you can't really expect to get something good in return for the bad thing you did because it said "if you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly father give good things to those who ask him".
