She was born on the 12th of July 1997 in Swat District, Pakistan¹ She is known mainly for human rights advocacy for education and for women  in her region. What she become famous all over the world news was when she was shot in the head by Taliban while she was on the way home from school. The shooting resulted in a massive outpouring of support for Yousafzai, which continued during her recovery.
