My ultimate vision is to become the Chief Financial Officer of an S&P 500 Company. My purpose comes from the childhood that I have endured, experiencing financial hardship that I never wanted to experience again, and that goes for the rest of my bloodline.

Some of the systematic differences that I faced because of my race and class background contributed to a feeling of hopelessness and worthlessness. My parents, as immigrants, had to work extremely hard just to legally migrate to the United States. This comes with limited job opportunities, which has resulted in an extremely low household income, that inevitably deprived me of plenty opportunities, and early access to technology. However, as of now, I've come to a realization that I'm proud of myself for being able to compete on the same academic level as the sons and daughters of millionaires.

Since I was little, I have always had an interest in a mathematics-related major. When practicing problems in school, I felt as if solving math problems was a fun activity that I would like to pursue in the future. Partnered with this interest was money. I would always be the kid that would ask, “How much was this?” or “How much was that?” Obviously, these questions would never be accurately answered, and I knew that I finally wanted an answer in the future.

My perseverance from my childhood has come from the result of systematic racism and financial hardship. However, my mission, purpose, and visions all align with breaking out of this lifestyle. Breaking free from the curse of generational poverty. These statements have been set into stone for how I will act in my future, and I am glad to feel that the future is near.

Growing up, my intellectual capacity has always been overlooked. Attending a predominantly white elementary school as a black student, it seemed as if I was always expected to be less smart, or less capable of my classmates. Although my twin brother and I had the highest test scores in the class, I was still objectified as some sort of foreign character who could not do the things that the white students could.

Chosen as one of a select group of high-achieving students nationwide for OnRamp, a highly competitive early college readiness program by Thrive Scholars. Acceptance into OnRamp signifies early recognition for future participation in the flagship Thrive Scholars program, which boasts alumni attending Ivy League and other top institutions. This program will help me recieve admittance into the University of Pennsylvania as UPenn is one of their partner schools, and it provides me with tutoring and college admission's advice.
