Most peculiar though was all that he had to do was copy the encyclopedia and stay in the office for some hours. After some four weeks or so when he went to work he found that the Red-Headed League was dissolved so he went to Sherlock. Turns out his assistant was John Clay a criminal and he and his partner had created this league to keep Mr.Wilson busy for a couple hours so they could use his cellar to dig a tunnel to the bank. This is a window moment because this I haven't ever been tricked like this before. He had done all this so he could selfishly keep leeching off their wealth. This is window scene for me because its never happened before and I can't imagine how awful it would be to have been tricked like this. They didn't believe him because of all the circumstantial evidence, firstly he had been seen following the same path his father had a couple minutes before him with a gun under his arm. Secondly a witness had seen the father and son in a heated argument to the point where the son had raises his hand as if to strike the other. Shortly after he had reported the murder of his father. Young McCarthy had blood on him and his gun was left at the scene of death. However according to young McCarthy he had been away from home for three days and had just arrived. He had been informed about where his father ad went. Young McCarthy took his gun and walk toward Boscombe Pool with intentions t head to the rabbit warren. He heard a "Cooee!" which was the usual signal between the father and son. He had ran towards the sound and met his father, the later got into an argument so the son ran off. About some distance away he heard a yell and he ran back. He found his father dead and he held him, he dropped his gun and walked the nearest house to report the death. 
This scene is a mirror for me because I can relate to being falsely accused of something when all the evidence points to you.

He is in fact innocent, but no own believes him. If the point of view was from young McCarthy's perspective we would probably get some inner monologue. We would probably learn that he is conflicted because if he reports the death of his father he would get arrested most likely immediately. That scene would then become an internal conflict, and then an external conflict once he has been arrested. The reader would probably be very frustrated to find that an innocent man had been arrested. Another character I wanted to see from their perspective would probably be Lestrade's a fellow detective. The story would be a bit different because he was investigating the case before Sherlock and Watson had arrived. So if the story were told from Lestrade's point of view we would have a story from a detective's point of view. We could then compare his methods to Sherlock's. Watson used to serve in Afghanistan as a doctor and now he's in London, married and working in his profession. This narrator is mostly reliable, he is Sherlock's friend and we see Sherlock solve cases with Watson. The reason why I said that Watson is a mostly reliable narrator is because he isn't all knowing and there are times when Sherlock and Watson have to split up and so we don't know whats happening on Sherlock's side. Through Watson I see mirrors because he's a realistic character. The story starts with Neville's wife had seen him in the city and it had looked like he had been violently thrown back into the room. So she went to check it out and there was no Neville there and only two men one was the owner of the place and the other was a well-known beggar. The beggar had been accused of murder of Neville. But it turns out that the beggar was Neville in disguise, that was basically what he did for a living in the city, so did not want his wife to see him like this so when he had saw her through the window he rushed back to the room and put his disguise on. Since then the police had taken him into custody, it has been a week and there has been no trace of Neville, so they think it was murder. 
If the story was told from Mrs St Clair's point of view the story would be a lot more mysterious, because she would be left in the dark, since Neville had been exposed by Sherlock and he had agreed to not make this news public, because they just needed to find the missing man. Another reason why the story would be a lot more mysterious is because she isn't Watson or Sherlock who are investigating but rather a normal person. In this chapter Mr St Clair was very worried about her husband, for nearly about a week until she had gotten a letter from him saying to wait, nonetheless she was still worried. This was because he didn't want his wife and children to know what he did to earn most of his money in the city, it would be quite embarrassing. When the police had put the beggar who was Neville the whole time, he couldn't come home for a week or so and from this scene I think there sometimes its better to not keep secrets to yourself, because they could burden you. I think Neville was in a bad situation, because who knows what would have happened if his family found out he was a beggar for a living. That's why I said sometimes you should open up to someone if its weighing heavily on your mind. Since a person can't be at two places at the same time, they have failed to find Neville the man who presumably went missing. Once James Ryder has done this, he went to his sister to take a goose. He found a goose and stuffed the gem down its throat as far as he could reach and the chaos attracted his sister who came running over. He said he wanted to goose with the black stripe on its tail. Apparently, however there were two such geese and he had taken the one without the gem he had stuffed in it. Thus forming a chain of events with the gem landing in Sherlock's hands. One of Sherlock's saying where that the best mysteries were often in the trivial everyday happenings, he and Watson begin to investigate. 
The point of view would likely not have changed the story much because even if it were from someone else's point of view such as the woman who had her gem stolen, the reader wouldn't know what had happened and what the chain of events were, unless the story were from Sherlock's perspective where he later deducts that James was the thief of the stolen gem, and interrogates him about it. Not even Sherlock knew much about these tiny chains of events until he had heard Jame's side of the story. Oftentimes when I'm bored or such I usually take out my phone, causing my weekly screen time average to go at 4-5 hours! Sherlock sees things just like most people, he has normal eyes but what he can perceive with observation and deduction is nothing less astonishing. From this topic I have learned that you do see but do you observe and make sense of what you see? I am wondering how far this topic can go in real life and how it may affect a person who applies this topic. The author really does know how to create suspense in a story, for example, other than the dangerous unknown, when Dr Grimesby Roylott visits Sherlock he threatens them by showcasing his strength when bending the steel poker and saying that they shouldn't want to see him again otherwise. That scene alone created suspense, because the readers learned that this person is quite dangerous and that they were in quite and iffy situation.  
Looking at the dialogue, it seems to be okay but the author is good at hiding clues in the dialogue, I appreciate that part because when the case is over everything makes sense. The same is also true for the authors use of description when he describes the room or anything really. The author really isn't big on figurative but when he does use figurative language it is quite easy to interpret. One such example is, "All day the wind has screamed". I am not sure if what the author does can be considered a flash back but when Sherlock has exposed the mystery often times the person who has committed the crime has no where else to escape so they can only tell their side of the story, or we would get Sherlock to tell what things must have happened in chronological order. It turns out that Sherlock had been right and they had dug a tunnel while John Clay kept Mr.Wilson at the Red Headed League. In the end of the robbery has been prevented Mr.Weathermerry learns that he should be more careful to keep the bank safe from robbery. On the other hand, Mrs. Baumbach is pleased to have been paired up with Turtle.  "Sighs of relief greeted the naming of Turtle's partner, but Flora Baumbach seemed pleased to be paired with the kicking witch. At least, her face was still puckered in that elfin grin. Turtle ha hooped for one of the high-school seniors, especially Doug Hoo."(p. 33). We see that in the early part of the game, Turtle is the one in charge, and Mrs. Baumbach thinks of it like chaperoning a kid, and says that she is glad to be paired up with a youth. It is later revealed while Mr. Baumbach is braiding Turtle's hair that her daughter had died, so that is probably why she is glad to have been paired with Turtle, also Turtle's real name Turtle says is Alice. In the beginning of the book, Mrs. Baumbach was just someone who worked for Turtle's mom to prepare Angela's wedding dress(Turtle's older sister and her mom's preferred daughter). Now that Turtle and Mrs. Baumbach are paired, their interactions have changed, and they are more cooperative and have the same goal. The major conflicts affects the characters, by having them to learn and trust their partner to them having tension and awareness of the other teams because one of them is the murderer of Sam Westing. She is supposed to be married to the intern Dr. Deere in short time. People congratulate her and Angela finds that they talk to her like she is nobody by herself and that she needs to be married. Angela slowly comes to the realization that she doesn't want to marry, at least not yet. "Why did ask about Denton all the time, as though she was nobody without him?"(p.58). However, Angela doesn't want to confront her mother about this matter and disappoint the others. Angela, Angela who always follows her mother's orders obediently is starting to have thoughts otherwise. When the gifts are being handed out to Angela she opens a gift that had a bomb in it (fireworks), nobody is hurt except for Angela who was hit in the face by these explosives. It is later revealed by Turtle, that it was Angela who set the bomb there and it seems like she wanted to use that method to escape or post-pone the marriage. Denton Deere. Chris Theodorakis has a disease that he got four years ago, it made his movements awkward and it got to the point he got to be pushed around in a wheelchair, it also made speaking hard for Chris. Denton Deere is a doctor and at first he thought to himself that he shouldn't have been paired with Chris. "Doctor D. should be pared with his bride to be. D. Denton Deere protested, but silently: If his had been arranged for free medical advice, they (whoever they are) were mistaken. He was a bus man. He was a doctor, no a nurse maid."(p.33) We can infer that he didn't want to be with Chris because that would make him look after and take care of the crippled kid. Chris on the other hand is very excited about this, "But Chris was delighted to be part of the outside world."(p.33). After this Denton goes back to work to the hospital, we don't see much of their interactions, but while Denton was at work Chris was working out the clues and would tell Denton about his progress. We see Denton become less cold to Chris and he's still awkward, and seems to not be kind on the outside, but he means well. "He had meant for it to be amusing; it sounded cruel." Later Denton, brings Chris an offer to a solution to could repair his condition. ""Listen, Chris, can you hear me? Just overnight. I found a neurologist, a nerve doctor, who works on problems like yours."" He says that he has the permission of Chris' parents, but the decision is Chris'. Chris agrees and goes with Denton to the neurologist. I like how the conflict, got these two character together and how Chris is always nice and a happy kid, even though he is crippled has influenced the doctor into helping him, and I think its a good influence. I can relate to this because sometimes when I know somebody did something I would give them a chance and lie about for their alibis. Jake is podiatrist and Madame Hoo came from China with Mr. Hoo and doesn't speak English. We can already tell the Jake is a pretty nice person and Madame Hoo is mysterious because she just keeps to her self. Somewhere in the middle of the story we see the Madame Hoo become a bit more outward thanks to Jake, talking to her even though the others won't because she doesn't know English."Jake turned to Madame Hoo. "Hi there, partner."
"She doesn't speak English, Dad," Angela said flatly.
"And she never will, Angela, if no one talks to her."
'Snow," dais Madame Hoo.
Jake followed her pointing finger. "That's right , snow. Lots and lots of snow. Snow. Trees. Road. Lake Michigan."
"China," said Madame Hoo.
"China? Sure, why not," Jake replied. "China."(p.59). We can infer that while the book doesn't show us many more scene of this, we can infer that Jake keeps on having these conversations with Madame Hoo and that affects her in a way, so that she isn't scared to speak in a different language. That part I like very much. I also like how it switches the point of view of characters, so you get a variety of information, that the reader can attempt to piece together. Something that I don't like is that in one scene Turtle decided to take the position to be in charge during a time when there was panic. I think that that jump in character development should have been more gradual, or the author could've described that Turtle was also confused and finally decided to take charge of the situation, I think they could have done that scene a bit better. Overall I would recommend this to someone to introduce mystery novels to them, because it much reminds me of the board game clue, and that would help connect the reader the genre of mystery. Judge Ford is focused on winning this and keeps to herself and works with her partner. Sandy on the other hand is very friendly and open to interactions. "The judge did not return the chip-toothed smile." shows that Ford is more of a distanced character while Sandy is like the opposite of that. The interactions of these two characters are very serious because Ford keeps it so and she acknowledges that Sandy is quite clever despite his education. Ford and Sandy keep on working together very efficiently, gathering information about the other heirs. We see Ford distance herself less and she even talks about her childhood, "The judge paused, then spoke so rapidly sandy had to stop taking notes. "My mother was a servant in the Westing house-hold, my father worked for the railroad and was a gardener on his days off." We can infer that Sandy has impacted Ford in a way so that she is less distant from the other characters. After Sandy died, she felt that she should help Chris with her influence and some money when he goes to school, because Sandy said, that he could have a bright future. When the game starts, Grace is in it to win it, she wants the money, but that starts to corrupt her in a sense. For example, she has disregarded her husband and children, "If she was not the heiress now, she would be soon, what with her clue, Angela's clues, Turtle's clues, Denton's clues, and the clues of Mr. Hoo's obedient son. Five thousand dollars lost! Oh well, who needed Jake anyway? She'd win on her own."(p.34). In this scene she may not have realized it, but Grace has changed ever since the game and during the game. When Jake talks about Turtle, Gracie says, "Don't ever mention that child to me" and Jake responds by saying, "It's no wonder she wanted to blow us all up". "Whatever became of that fun-loving woman I married, what was her name-Gracie Windkloppel?" Gracie then says that Jake is a loser and Angela will marry a "real" doctor. Once this argument ends, Gracie hears herself and says, "Oh, Jake, what's happening to us? What's happening to me? Maybe they're right, maybe I'm not a nice person."(p.133-134) and starts to cry. Grace realizes how her want to win the game has changed her and the way she interacts with people. Turtle found out that Angela was the bomber and had sent herself to the hospital. Turtle realizes that is probably getting the breaking point and eventually confess. That would leave a permanent criminal record on Angela who is an adult. So Turtle sets of a bomb and confesses, saying that she was the bomber so that Angela wouldn't be found out. During a time of crisis right after Sandy's death Turtle takes control of the situation and holds something like a court/interrogation session. "Pacing the floor, hand behind her back, she confronted each of the heirs in turn with a hard a stare. The heirs stared back , not knowing if they were the jury or the accused."(p.160) Turtle also figures out that Same Westing is alive and his different identity's and where he is now. So Turtle has won the game unknown to the others. We see that Turtle has grown up and is doing good in life. "T.R.
