My favourite genre is underground/trap, the reason being most of the artist have a similar vibe that I can enjoy.

In trap/underground and hip hop; the music videos have a typical representation of the artist, the camera angels used and whats featured in the videos.
-Many close up shots of the artist, typically low angled.(This is to show that the artist is both the focus of the video and is the one in "control")
-Lots of jewlerry and money shown on screen as mis-en-scene; others typically include cars,clothes and various drugs.
-various "wealthy" locations.
-Exaggerated edited shots(typically in underground artist such as lil pump, xxxtentacion and pouya)
-Women shown on screen with the artist(typically shown as objects)

Typically, to ensure the successful launch of a product, they conform to the stereotypical representation of music videos, however; sometimes they do challenge these norms.

The common forms and conventions are:
-Show off members of the band/artist(s)
-promote what the band's genre is and what they are about
-make sure the song is memorable for viewers
