         <description><![CDATA[<p>Morocco is on the edge of the Sahara Desert, making it hard to access clean water. Luckily, a woman named Dar Si Hmad started a program called Cloud fishing. 10 years of research went into creating this sustainable way of collecting water. Cloud fishing is a process that collects water from the thick fog that lays on the bottom of mountains. Once the droplets are heavy enough, they fall into basins, filtered by the UV. its then piped into 140 households in nearby villages. Cloud catching is a fast and reliable way to sustainably collect water. An average 6000L is collected daily. A negative of the cloud catching is that high temps and dry winds speed up the process of evaporation. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Water Scarcity:</p><p>There is water scarcity for many reasons, including water demand, as 80% of California's water goes to agriculture not to mention the rising population in California. One more reason is the climate, as the temperature in the state is rising, and droughts and floods are expected. This is mostly physical.</p><p><br/></p><p>The Solution:</p><p>California's solution is reused water. With their advancements, OCWD has been able to reuse water for many different purposes, including irrigation or even drinking water. The process is that they take treated waste water and mix t with clean, unused water, then they import it into many different dams.</p><p><br/></p><p>1 Negative and 1 Positive:</p><p>One positive for reusing water is the water scarcity benefit, as reusing water can stop the need for more. One negative is that the cost of recycling water can be high, because you need lots of chemicals, and need to keep getting more.</p>]]></description>

The country’s 1.4 billion population needs the vital resource to thrive but it has become limited and unevenly distributed.</p><p>After decades of urbanisation, China is now faced with both water shortages and flooding - only made worse by the effects of climate change.&nbsp;And pollution is making it worse. A sponge city is a nature-based solution which uses the landscape to retain water at its source, slow down water flow and clean it throughout the process.</p><p><br/></p><p>&nbsp;In the long run, sponge cities will decrease the amount of carbon emissions and will try and fight climate change. But with more and more demand growing for the sponge city model as we near 2030, 70 per cent of Chinese cities are scrambling to draw up plans.</p>]]></description>
