I think a way that I could improve this image would be to align a little more with rule of thirds so that the land on the left side and the distant hills on the right come into 1/3 of the photo on either side. It is successful because you can see how still the water is. I really like how this photo turned out because of how descriptive it looks and how it tuned out exactly how I wanted. Something to make it better would be the lighting.
