One way the genocide affected them was in a good way because according to the Britannica article "Kurds" it stated, "The removal of Saddam Hussein... offered new opportunities for Kurds to advance their claims to autonomy." This explained that the removal of Saddam Hussein after the genocide ended affected the victims in a positive way because it offered them more independence and opportunities. Another way the Kurdish Genocide affected the victims was in a negative way because in the ABC-Clio article "Kurdish Revolt" it said, "He (Saddam Hussein) forcibly relocated many people to other areas of the country and once again banned the Kurdish language." This affected the victims in a negative way because the Kurds couldn't speak their language which must have been difficult for most people. And a third reason why the Kurdish Genocide affected the victims was also in a negative way because in the article "The Kurdish Genocide" it says,  "Many Thousands died as a result of chemical attacks and many thousands more were injured as a direct consequence." This affected the victims in a negative way the most because many of the people who were fighting for their freedom and independence died or got injured. And another reason why the Kurdish genocide occurred is because according to the Britannica article "Kurds" it said, "...large numbers of Kurds were forcibly relocated, particularly from areas along the Iranian border where Iraqi authorities suspected Kurds were aiding Iranian forces during the Iran-Iraq War."
