To Whom It May Concern:
Cassandra Barnard spent the first semester of the 2018-2019 school year as a teacher cadet in my
5th hour American Literature class at Grand Blanc High School. She attended class daily, observed
instruction, and assisted with daily tasks such as grading, organizing, and copying materials. She also
began planning a bulletin board and a cell-phone elimination policy.
Ms. Barnard displayed many fine personal and professional qualities. She was helpful and was willing
to complete any tasks I asked of her. She has great attention to detail and completes tasks well that
regard organization, numerical data, and planning.
Ms. Barnard was also helpful in discussing topics with students that she has already had experience
in. For example, she was comfortable sharing with junior students tips for the SAT, college planning,
and senior year course selection.
After her placement with me, Cassandra spent a semester working with younger students at a local
elementary school. She has stated that she preferred this grade level and that she quickly and easily
built strong relationships with the students she say on a daily basis. As a result, Ms. Barnard would
be best suited for an elementary position.

How the kids have reacted to it is they loved it, I noticed that the kids started to do more kind things to other kids and also started to help cleaning up A lot more than they were before i started using the puff balls. They are so sweet and always ask me to help them with things and give me hugs when I walk in. One time when we were watching a movie in tech x a few kids came and sat next to me in the back and it was so sweet. A little girl named Roslyn is one of the kids I have made a closer relationship with. My thoughts about teaching and what it truly is all about is the interactions between the kids and making connections and building a relationship with them. I think that in schools we need to focus more on having kids learn more and not about just getting a grade and trying to pass.
