Reflection of Human Resource speaker, Garry Evans

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Mr. Garry Evans speak on recruitment, interviewing, retaining staff, and dismissal. There were several points that he made that really stuck with me. The first point that he made was how important it is to take care of the issues so the teachers can teach children. When a teacher cannot focus on teaching, it takes away from the students. This also pertains to administration helping solve issues for the teachers so they can do what they are there to do! A point Mr. Evans made regarding recruitment and retaining staff was how important it is to build relationships with the teachers in the building, especially the new teachers. Ask how things went after the first day/week and see what you could do to relieve some stress.
