Flipgrid is, at its most basic, a video response platform. Teachers create grids (classroom discussion collection) and add topics (discussions) for students to make a response video about.

Flipgrid is WAY more than that though.

*You can add attachments and turn your grid into a place to link and attach things to.
*You can have students create the topic questions to start discussions in the classroom
*You can connect GLOBALLY with other classrooms and have real conversations. Break down the walls of your classroom and learn from others!
*You will be able to connect families with the new update coming shortly after school starts in 2018

See my Webinar below for an intro to the features and using Flipgrid.

I love to use Flipgrid as a way for my students to come in on Monday mornings and share about their weekends. Many of my students are shy and choose to "pass" their sharing turn when we talk as a whole group- especially at the beginning of the year- and Flipgrid helps eliminate that. Even with my most reluctant kiddos.

My students were free to Flipgrid when they were working independently or during stations (sometimes Flipgrid was a station!).

We are a part of a Gridpal grid with a class from Vietnam and will be introducing ourselves the first week of school! My students will be able to watch the new pals' videos, respond to them and start building that connection. As the year progresses, my hope is to have common topics that we are studying to discuss together (weather, animal research, book talks, sharing our writing, etc)

See link below to copy my Animal Life Cycle topic to your classroom
