It is important that educators and future educators know how to effectively use technology, as it is a classroom resource that continuously changes and develops. Children in society today are surrounded by technology, therefore, it is important that educators can incorporate technology into the classroom to make learning more relatable to students. Furthermore, technology provides many additional resources for students of various learning abilities, so when technology is incorporated, students are given the opportunity to succeed.

For students who have learning disabilities, technology is a resource that makes learning more equitable and effective. Technology can provide students with resources that make up for their learning disability, which makes learning more effective among students. Teachers can incorporate lessons for the entire class that involves technology, but can differentiate the lesson so that students who have a learning disability can be successful.

There are many technological tools for students who have learning disabilities. On an iPhone or iPad for example, you can use settings to have the device use larger words, read the content on the device aloud, or highlight words. There are also many applications or tools that can also assist students with learning disabilities.

It is important that teachers incorporate technology because it can spark a new thought, idea or learning method for student rather than just sitting and reading a book and taking a test.

It's important that educators and future educators know how to use technology because it's a valuable resource that is constantly changing. Educators have to stay up to date with technolgy as it is a resource that many students use and are familiar with.

If there is a form of technology that can assist the student to become more engaged with learning, then why not incorporate technology with all students. Teachers can differentiate their resources so all students have the ability to be successful. Technology can support students by providing different resources. For example, if a student is dyslexic, you can download software that could read the computer screen to the student. Some examples could include downloading software that can read the screen or page to the student. You could also change the contrast on devices or change the size of the font.

1. It is important for all educators to know how to use technology because we are in a technology world. No matter what we do as teachers students will always get distracted by technology, so instead of disciplining students for using technology we can integrate the technology so students won't feel the need to be on their phones or laptops or tablets when they should be learning. Students can relate to technology therefore, to the content as well.
2+3. Teachers can utilize technology for students with learning disabilities by using the technology to bring their attention to the content. Often times students can get distracted so technology can help keep their attention on the content. It can also help students who have a hard time with learning certain materials easier to learn because of decoding websites and others. It can also help organize students thoughts by giving information in an organized way.
4. I believe almost any technological tool could potentially help a student with a learning disability. I believe it depends on the student and the disability, but some examples could be iPads or kindles. Kindles can make reading easier for students with a reading disability.

1. It is important that educators and future know how to use technology so they know how to use it in the most meaningful and engaging way with their students.
2. & 3. Technology can be very impactful for students with learning disabilities because it can allow them to access the same content as their peers and give them support in the classroom so they don't have to rely on a paraprofessional or pullout service. Technology can support students in many different ways in the classroom, how they access the content, how they demonstrate their learning, and keeping them motivated to learn.
4. My personal favorite technology tool for students with learning disabilities is speech-to-text and text-to-speech. Both of these features are often built into technology like iPhones and iPads and so schools do not have to purchase additional assistive technology beyond the device. Also, with devises such as these student with learning disabilities may not be as obvious to their peers which can decrease the negative stigma associated with having a learning disability among peers.

1. It is important for teachers to know how to use technology because our society is becoming more and more dependent upon it. Already there are 10 year olds who know more about technology than I do, if we want to be able to teach them, if we want to be able to teach them how to teach themselves we need to be able to stay ahead of them.
2-4 Technology can benefit all students, not just students with learning disabilities. Using something as simple as a document camera can help students who can't see as well or who have trouble following verbal directions. For students who are not at grade level for reading, bookflix is a great site that will read the book to them. Technology can add an extra touch to a lesson to make it more interesting or easier to follow.

1) It is important for future educators and current educators to know how to use technology because technology is all around us. There is a good chance that some students will know how to use technology better than the teacher, but it is the teachers job to use it a different way than the student would, it is the teachers job to use technology to expand learning, not just use technology for fun.
2&3) Technology can be used to incorporate different senses or produce lessons that will enable the student, so that there is no learning disability present. Technology could act as a crutch in some cases and enable the student to do things that could not have been done without the use of learning technology
4) A good example would be using online text boards to have a conversation about the topic that would include the student who cannot speak into lessons.

It is important for educators to know how to use technology so they can do a great job to benefit their students. Knowing what you are using before applying it to the classroom with save time during lessons and activities and also gives the educator confidence in what is being taught. Educators and students will be able to work on what is being taught instead of always trying to troubleshoot technology.

What are ways teachers can use technology with students who have disabilities? I think it is important to incorporate the right technology for students who have disabilities. Students with disabilities should be evaluated to get an idea of what type of technology would work best for that individual student. I have seen nonverbal students use iPads to help them communicate with their teachers, aides and classmates. Providing students with disabilities the use of technology allows them to participate more in class and with their classmates.
Apple has a lot of great tools to use with students with special needs. Guided Access helps students with autism or other attention and sensory challenges stay on task. A teacher or therapist can limit an iOS device to stay on one app by disabling the Home button, and even restrict touch input on certain areas of the screen. So wandering taps and gestures won’t distract from learning. Speech - Students who have difficulty with expressive speech can benefit from the assistive features built into iOS. FaceTime lets students communicate visually — through sign language, gestures, or facial expressions. iMessage lets students chat with classmates about homework via text. And Speak Selection lets them hear words read aloud to help with speech development; it can even communicate for them by speaking the words they type.

I think that in order for teachers to fully prepare students for the real world, technology is an important aspect of education. It is our duty as teachers to make learning innovative and unique for our students. In order for us to do that, we must know how to use the technology ourselves. Technology can be used for students with special needs in many different ways. If students have a hearing impairment they can see things visually. If a student is blind, they can have a book read out loud to them. For students with learning disabilities, there are many resources and applications available to help students practice content and review materials that they may need extra help in. Many of these resources scaffold student learning so that it is helpful for students at every level.

Eventually everything will go to technology and future educators, especially, should know how to use it and teach it effectively. Teachers can use technology to read aloud books for students with difficulties comprehending reading, and they can be used to enlarge text for those students with visual impairments.

It is important for educators and future educators to know about technology because it is, in a sense, taking over our society. Everything is technology based. Students connect to technology and they are using it at younger ages each year. It is important because knowing about technology allows a teacher to bring that technology into the classroom which opens so many doors for the students learning. I honestly don't know many ways to use technology to help students with disabilities. I feel as though, depending on the disability, there may be many apps and tools that could assist in their learning in a way a teacher could not normally.

Technology should be used in the classroom to help expand students' knowledge. Teachers have the responsibility of bringing technology resources into the classroom and explaining each one to students.
